Sopra Steria Recruitment are working in partnership with well-known organisation to recruit for a Senior Tool Administrator
Job Overview:
To provide development, support and administration for Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) tools.
Contribute to the strategic direction of SDLC tools in the organisation, by integrating, extending and customising vendor products and contributing to the creation of internal tools used to deliver improved efficiency and controls to development teams.
Continuously identify methods to increase the value delivered by the SDLC toolset, keeping ahead of the technology roadmap and in step with latest market innovations.
Contribute to providing coordinated day to day support for the SDLC toolset to company user groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Work under the NFT Manager delivering tool solutions that meet defined objectives, schedules, standards, cost targets and help deliver the departmental strategy.
Own and take responsibility for the delivery and future strategic direction of SDLC tools and services.
Provide technical expertise, guidance and support for 20 plus commercial and open-source tools and applications.
Demonstrate through results, an aptitude for supporting and delivering multiple activities in parallel while maintaining schedule and responding effectively to changes in priority.
Provide professional development planning, estimation, issue & risk reporting and stakeholder management in keeping with department standards.
Monitor and evaluate new development practices and technologies.
Work as part of the SDLC tools team:
Contributing to the service delivery, planning and direction
Providing end-user support where required
Developing new integrations and applications for internal use
Contribute to user group forums
Proactively support other team members when necessary, sharing knowledge and workload as agreed with the NFT Manager
Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal within all appropriate forums
Skills:
Essential:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a software development related discipline or relevant associated professional experience
Commercial experience of multiple software development services.
Good working knowledge source code control.
Good working knowledge of defect tracking systems
Excellent problem management and investigation skills.
Experience developing utilities or tools.
Familiarity with software delivery life cycle
Experience in building and deploying software using a variety of tools
Excellent customer management skills.
Able to demonstrate ownership of tasks and project delivery
Able to reliably work to plan with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritise workload and response accordingly
Excellent communications skills
Proactive approach to work and extended teamworking
Consistently able to multi-task and change priorities at short notice

Desirable:
Vendor or industry accreditation for supported applications/tools and or quality practices.
