Experienced Security Architect with a current focus on NERC CIP compliance to provide critical security solutions to Energy & Utilities businesses at a successful and fast-growing consulting firm.

Pioneering consulting firm focusing on cutting edge projects across a number of different industries including energy and utilities. This role is based in Chicago, IL.

Job Description:

The Architect will be responsible for leading technical project teams as the engagement lead to gather requirements, create a design, and implement the solution. You will typically be working with a team of technical resources working to complete a project that aligns with the client's business objectives.

Typical engagement responsibilities will include:

- Current state review of existing organization, processes, and technologies to deliver key findings and recommendations

- Delivery of cyber asset/system categorization and impact ratings, including field visits to multiple substations and/or control centers

- Develop implementation strategy and roadmaps, with an initial focus on NERC CIP V5 compliance

- Working closely with network architects to craft network designs that align with NERC CIP regulations

- Perform day-to-day organization, process and technology data collection and analysis, interviews and discovery workshops

- Leads asset inventory review and categorization

- Manage client relationships and meet with clients to determine business and functional requirements

- Translate business and technical requirements into concrete projects proposals including detailed work plans and cost estimates

- Be in the market publishing and speaking about the evolving NERC CIP regulations

- Actively build a professional network and affiliate network in the local community

Candidate Qualifications:

For this role you must have at least 5 years of experience working for a consulting firm or electric utility with experience in compliance, electric operations, or transmission operations. You should have strong knowledge of applicable cyber security standards (NIST, FERC, NERC CIP, etc.) for utility SCADA and Smart Grid applications and ideally have experience working in an organization that supports NERC CIP V3 and NERC CIP V5 compliance.

You must have a proactive desire to continue to broaden and deepen business and consulting skills and will ideally possess a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent highly desired.

Candidates must possess proven knowledge and experience with the architecture, engineering and deployment of cyber security solutions and experience in leading and delivering end-to-end solutions, which could include strategy, design, development, testing and training, and implementation

You must have a willingness to travel for out of town client engagements, at least 50%.
