DESCRIPTION:

The Manager of Enterprise Architecture should understand the business and technical capabilities of the company, collaborate with other key members of the IT team and build relationships with senior members of the business and technology teams of the company based on a shared passion to innovate and drive technology solutions for business challenges. The Manager of Enterprise Architecture should have strong technical skills, an analytical problem-solving mindset, delivery focus and client-orientation.

The role will ensure business, application, data and technology architecture strategies facilitated to support business and IT growth, productivity, simplification and modernization of goals. The Manager of Enterprise Architecture will work across a broad spectrum of applications supporting technical and business architectures and will work closely with business owners, internal delivery teams, enterprise architects and external vendors to set architectural guidelines, establish governance and approvals, set technical roadmaps and guide delivery teams on tool selections.

SKILLS:

- 10 + years in Enterprise Architecture 6+ years of experience managing Enterprise Architecture in a large, complex organization preferably in the financial, healthcare or Insurance sector

- 6+ years of experience working with a healthcare large claims and health platforms

- 6+ years of experience in building multi-tier applications using Java or .NET, or alternative technologies

- Knowledge and experience in creating and maintaining platform business and technology roadmaps

- Solid understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration

- Proven experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server or other database technologies

- Demonstrated experience using architectural frameworks like TOGAF

- Track record of success designing scalable solutions in complex application implementations at an enterprise level

- Ability to work with multiple technology stacks and solutions

- Proven knowledge of the healthcare and/or Insurance industry across various lines of businesses like Appeals, Adjudication, Case Management and Specialty Benefits, and domains like provider, eligibility, claims, billing and customer service

- Lead architecture modelling efforts (eg, data modelling, process modelling, hardware modelling, performance modelling, etc.)

- Experience with multiple Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies (including Agile, Scrum)

- Experience implementing service-oriented architecture (SOA) and industry standard distributed services standards, technologies and tools (eg., XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, etc.) across a large, multi-system landscape

- Experience estimating strategic, operational, and financial impacts of architecture solutions in support of portfolio initiatives

- Experience rationalizing, consolidating, or simplifying multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments

- Experience defining and guiding solutions implementations with both business and technical teams using architecture requirements, roadmaps and blueprints

- Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance laws and regulations within the healthcare or Insurance industry

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field

- EDI and ETL experience

- Experience prototyping and performance tuning applications deployed across multiple operating systems, languages and computing platforms

- Experienced in running POC's to the clients and Executive Management

- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, influencing, consensus building and reasoning skills

- Strong documentation skills, especially in support of application/enterprise standards and processes

- Experience facilitating cross-functional teams to consensus on common solutions and influence outcomes in a complex matrixes environment

- Excellent team builder and proven track record for building high performing teams

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Align architectural guiding principles, best practices, and solutions patterns with business strategies, architecture roadmaps and information models

- Provide guidance, support and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure architecture alignment with all initiatives on the basis of cost, functionality, practicality, efficiency, simplification and modernization of objectives

- Support managing traceability of business capabilities to the appropriate technology functional components and infrastructure

- Create documentation and presentations, as well as lead discussions with associated business and technology owners to receive buy-in and approval

- Document and articulate relationships between business capabilities and information technology solutions leveraging architectural frameworks like TOGAF

- Develop, recommend and execute strategic and tactical business and technology architecture roadmaps

- Conduct architecture assessments during business ideation for feasibility, dimensioning and architecture reviews to ensure alignment with business goals and strategies

- Provide in depth technical architectural support during program/project solution analysis, design and development to ensure roadmap alignment

- Develop application architecture policies, standards, frameworks and reference architectures and ensure governance to published policies and standards.

- Participate in RFP and Proof of Concept evaluations of technologies and tools

- Triage and redirect solutions as required

- Maintain awareness of current technology assets, and the applicability and capability of each

- Build and maintain strong relationships with information technology vendors and service providers ensuring the company's needs and viewpoints on priorities are clearly communicated and understood.

- Create awareness of current business and industry issues/trends and incorporate into architecture designs as appropriate

- Manage, coach, provide feedback and guidance to a team of Enterprise Architects
