Resource 1 is in need of a Sr. Windows System Engineer for a project in Oak Brook, IL.
The project will involve Windows Server builds/deployment and on-going support. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting the support of hardware and software systems and configuring new system applications. Candidate must have 5+ years of experience working on a Windows 2008/2010 operating system, 3+ years in a VMWare virtual environment (ESx5+) and a strong understanding of storage (NetApp). The selected individual will be responsible for working with different business units to develop the engineering design to support the business and operational requirements. Other responsibilities will include performance monitoring, evaluating, implementing, and integrating new hardware and software, and developing production operational processes. Experience with Active Directory, Virtualization (VMWare) and MS Exchange is required. Leadership experience is a plus, as the individual will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and developing how to guides under the direction of management. The selected candidate will be working in a Microsoft/Linux base server environment and will be responsible for supporting various technologies including Microsoft Domain Controller, Web, MS SQL Server Database, SharePoint, Exchange, Lotus Notes, FTP Servers, ESX 5.5, Citrix, Xendesktop and UCS Cisco Blade. Future projects will involve Windows upgrade to 2008, and later 2012.
