Four Twenty Seven, a climate risk and resilience research & advisory firm, is looking for an talented environmental finance professional with outstanding communication skills to generate content on corporate climate risk and climate finance. The ideal candidate will have experience taking complex information and developing compelling content and analysis that translates climate science, data and regulatory developments that are relevant to the workflow of asset managers, economists, and other stakeholders within public and private financial sectors as well as non-financial corporations.

The successful candidate will be reporting to our Managing Editor and collaborating with a dynamic team of in-house analysts, and our growing network of climate scientists and economists to deliver cutting-edge research, analysis and modeling on the financial and economic impacts of climate change. Our customers are among the world's largest commercial, financial and government institutions.

Responsibilities The key responsibilities include developing compelling reports, briefs and blog posts that transform statistical findings and scientific information into an engaging narrative. This position requires excellent curatorial, editorial and writing skills, and an ability to understand and translate complex quantitative findings into compelling and insightful analysis for professionals in the private and public sector.

Key Tasks

o Collaborate with data scientists, economists, and analysts to uncover and develop compelling content on climate risk and resilience in financial markets

o Identify key topics and content for our editorial calendar, ensure timeliness and relevance of all publications

o Produce outstanding thematic reports and analyst notes to inspire and educate Four Twenty Seven's customers and prospects.

o Contribute to other client delivery for our professional service practice.

o Manage content development and publication from concept through delivery through our digital platform as well as corporate communications tools, blog, marketing collateral, website copy and social media channels.

o Represent Four Twenty Seven at public events, conferences, webinars and client briefings.

Requirements

o 3-5 [+] years' of writing experience, preferably on topics related to environmental finance / ESG.

o Outstanding communication and writing skills.

o Obsessive about grammar and tight copy. Equally comfortable editing other people's writing as you are receiving feedback on your own.

o Self-driving, autonomous and responsible – must be able to meet deadlines.

o Robust understanding of climate science and the key issues that surround climate risk, resilience and adaptation issues.

o A passion for being ahead of the curve or ‘reading the tea leaves' on important issued and continually taking the pulse on unfolding events related to climate change across scientific, economic, journalistic and political channels.

o Experienced with social media use for corporate communication. Basic html skills, familiarity with content management systems and html editors (WordPress), or a willingness and aptitude to learn.

o Self-starter, driven and responsible. Able to thrive in a small company / start-up environment.

o Graduate degree in a relevant field – e.g. economics, finance, MPA/MPP -- with a minor or joint degree in environmental science / sustainability preferred.
