Job Duties
Lead and oversee design and technical tasks on diverse projects with an emphasis on both large-scale urban public spaces and construction detailing.
Review designs, specifications, occasional cost estimates, and construction documents to ensure quality and aesthetic standards are met.
Construct innovative schematic concept plans in response to technical obstacles in the project’s scope
Project management and coordination, including creating project presentations, managing client relationships, job cost tracking and participation at project meetings.
Mentor and develop the skills of team members through technical guidance, collaboration, review, and delegation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, landscape architecture, and/or urban planning. Dual degrees preferred.
Licensed landscape architect in the State of California.
8+ years of professional experience, preferably in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Experience with Revit is a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate design ideas digitally and freehand.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and client management skills.
Proven experience successfully managing teams and overseeing multiple complex projects at one time.
Effective in managing deadlines and keeping projects on schedule, working with consultants, clients and contractors.
Ability to review and redline work products and project deliverables.
Experience with effective construction administration, including reviewing RFIs and submittals.
Solid understanding of California’s landscape materials and specifications.
Proficiency in planting design, grading design, and detail documentation.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
LEED Certification is a plus.
