Currently, we are seeking to hire a Project Manager in New York City with solid project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Team management: track staffing for 10 to 15 people, understand the team’s skill set to be able to track availability and assign them to different projects based on what the project needs, gently nudging people to stay on schedule, meeting regularly with the Senior Management team to find out who needs what on which projects by when.  Provide critical analysis to determine actions needed today to meet project commitments in the future for best practices in the delivery of our services.

Work together with architectural design teams on projects to provide technical quality reviews.

Proactive involvement in managing workload across multiple projects, team communication and consultant coordination

Quality Review Oversight on projects during all phases of a project: programming, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction drawings and construction administration

Project Management and Administration including reviewing drawing sets, submittals, shop drawings, tracking schedules, monitoring contract status.

Support project team coordination for plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction

Track consultant contracts, schedules and deliverables to meet overall project objectives

Work within given fees and contracts for projects.

Manage time to stay on schedule and within budgets.

Understand design vision.  Work to implement design based upon contractual agreement with client.

Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs

Qualifications:

At least 10 years of experience

Experience on commercial, technology or healthcare interiors, renovations and new construction including building envelope design and detailing.

Deep demonstrated working knowledge of the design process with strong emphasis on understanding how a complex set of construction drawings is created.

Computer skills to include Microsoft Project, Revit and AutoCAD.  Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Sketch Up a plus.

Flexibility to focus on multiple clients with a variety of project types in various stages of development

Ability to work well in a team environment

Strong management, organization, communication and relationship management skills

Architecture degree from an NAAB accredited school

Registered Architect preferred

The successful candidate must be able to work well as part of a design team, make immediate contributions and take initiative to complete work.
