Position: Lighting Designer
Lumen Architecture aspires towards a collaborative intersection between design ideas, people and process. We are a diverse team of professional lighting designers, enthusiasts, and creative thinkers who interface daily with clientele across a broad spectrum of design industries spanning architectural, artistic, interiors, engineering, integrated controls and manufacturing professions. Established in 2005, Lumen Architecture uses its diverse combination of backgrounds including fine art, theater, architecture, engineering and psychology to collaborate both within our office and beyond. By utilizing the creativity of the design team in tandem with our clients, we present unique visions and solutions to our projects.
Lumen Architecture is searching for designers who are both enthusiastic and drawn toward participating within a highly collaborative, creative, encouraging, fun and thought provoking environment.
The position provides growth opportunities for motivated detail-oriented individuals looking to apply themselves toward all aspects of the lighting design process – from concept design and mock-ups, to custom product research and design development, to project management and construction administration. Candidates will be quickly involved in a multitude of projects.

DESIRED SKILL SET OF CANDIDATE:
Designer / Project Manager:
•Candidates should demonstrate experience managing lighting design projects and working directly with architects, engineers and other clients
•An appreciation and understanding of architectural design and building systems
•Good visualization and representation skills, and the ability to verbally express ideas
•Creative thinking and a willingness to take initiative on projects and tasks.
•A solid foundation in lighting principles and technology – photometrics, light source qualities, fixture design, power and lighting control systems
•Proficiency in AGI32, AutoCAD, REVIT, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite
•Demonstrate familiarity with relevant national/local energy, building, and electrical codes, and LEED guidelines
•Clear and effective business writing ability
•4 or 5 year degree or Graduate degree in related technical field. Lighting design, architecture, engineering or interior design education is preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and work experience
