KieranTimberlake is seeking an Information Modeling Specialist to join our Philadelphia office. Composed of over 100 professionals with diverse backgrounds and abilities, our design practice is recognized worldwide. Our work includes the programming, planning, and design of new structures as well as the transformation of existing buildings. We have special expertise in education, government, arts and culture, civic, and residential projects, but common to all our work is the idea that each project begins with a question that continues its development within a culture of questioning, ensuring that design results from deep investigation. We promote a transdisciplinary design process that inspires creativity and fosters a culture of sharing ideas, knowledge, and techniques. See our website, www.kierantimberlake.com, for more information on our projects and current activities.
Position Description
The Information Modeling Specialist (IMS) will become an integral member of the Digital Design Platform, working within our BIM Practices group and collaborating across our knowledge network. He or she will leverage a deep understanding of building design and computation toward effective, agile, and imaginative building information modeling that is at the core of what we make. The IMS will also contribute to digital design strategic planning, as well as develop and implement tools and workflows that directly impact the design and execution of our projects.
Critical to this role is the capacity to identify modeling and simulation opportunities that advance current practices and generate actionable iterations that participate in project decision making. The ideal candidate will have to effectively identify current challenges and develop paths forward, all while synthesizing emerging BIM practices for implementation and guiding BIM discourse and knowledge sharing efforts.
The IMS will transect several project teams and is expected to identify and advance the practice across these areas of focus: BIM and parametric modeling; custom digital workflows; digital fabrication; BIM execution plans; advanced training and stewardship of office standards; and model content libraries. The IMS will work collaboratively with all team members using his or her design process and computation know-how to interrogate these and other related topics.
