The Director of Insights & Analytics will lead all agency
operations related to CRM data mining, performance measurement,
program testing and trending, research studies and consumer
segmentation to ultimately glean the insights needed to fuel
Zillner's product and service development and optimization, and
thought leadership initiatives.
This leadership position plays a pivotal role in shaping the
agency today in the insights we glean and apply to the products and
services we offer, and in the future as we grow within our
exponentially expanding consumer niche.
Primary Responsibilities:
●Drive behavioral insights and innovative solutions that will
inform design teams within the agency and our clients.
●Serve as the subject matter expert on all initiatives related
to consumer insight, performance management and emerging trends and
opportunities.
●Consult with key leadership to establish and drive strategies
related to data insight and analytics that are actionable and
measurable.
●Define a clear department vision and sustainable action plan to
realize that vision.
●Drive staffing/talent plans for department consistent with
growth plans and timing to support client needs and agency
goals.
●Lead and continuously innovate reporting and data analysis team
implementing scalable Business Intelligence solutions for entire
organization, both on an ad hoc and fully productized basis.
●Lead initiatives to overcome challenges associated with BIG
Data while managing the team's daily activities of reporting, data
analysis and direct marketing.
●Interface with diverse internal teams to guide data application
opportunities, to understand reporting requirements and provide
guidance from a data perspective.
●Collaborate with creative team to drive infographic and
storytelling opportunities using data analysis, research and data
visualization skills.
●Develop strategies to leverage and aggregate outside research
and drive proprietary research initiatives as needed.
●Work with internal and external resources to develop client
tools and services such as segmentation, modeling, dashboard
development, decision aids and business case analysis to support
programs, creative and recommended solutions. Work closely with the
agency team in making specific and actionable client
recommendations and sell in additional client engagements.
●Drive statistical modeling, segmentation, value analysis, as
well as reporting for online advertising, social media, mobile,
email campaigns and ecommerce activity.
●Develop data strategies (e.g. what we should capture, how we
should capture it, and the triggers/decisioning as a result,
etc.)
●Contribute to innovation for the agency and reinforce agency
leadership in the marketplace as being accomplished and
cutting-edge in the area of analytics.
●Assist in building out the agency's services in the area of
social media and mobile analytics, customer database analytics and
CRM program development.
●Stay current with client and industry developments and
benchmarks.
Required Skills and Experience:
●Agency background in media or multi-channel performance
preferred and/or direct marketing experienced ideal.
●Minimum Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in social
sciences, economics, mathematics, statistics, business or
marketing.
●Strong analytical skills, must be proficient in analyzing and
interpreting data from standard platforms and client databases.
●Experience managing team of business analysts, data analysts
and report developers.
●10+ years relevant experience in analytical role including 5+
years working on digital data.
●Strong experience working on Big Data (Hadoop, Hive, Pig,
HBase), preferably in advertising space.
●Advanced knowledge of SQL. Knowledge of scripting language such
as Python.
●Thorough knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data
Visualization tools, such as Tableau or Bime.
●Deep knowledge of common advertising analytical reports, such
as user path analysis, attribution, audience segmentation, etc.
●Proven experience leading cross-functional effort across
technical and non-technical (creative, client services, etc.)
teams.
●Strong track record turning analytical insights into actionable
results.
●Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, coaching and
presentation skills.
●Experience in a startup environment: strong internal drive to
get things done and get things right (initiative, attention to
detail, follow-through); demonstrable success balancing many
priorities and tasks; well-honed ability to lead, listen, and adapt
in a fast-paced environment.
●Strong problem-solving abilities and social/emotional
intelligence.
●Understand client's business goals and requirements, design and
develop analytic approaches tailored to its needs.
