Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Friday expressed his strong reaction over the “negative propaganda of Indian biased media” against the great intellectual and prominent Islamic Scholar Dr. Zakir Naik and the decision of the Indian government to probe his Islamic lectures.
In a statement, Geelani said that Dr. Naik and his TV channel are propagating and preaching true message of Islam and he has no direct or indirect relation with the terrorist incidents which are taking place in Bangladesh or any other place of the world.
He said that the RSS and its allied parties are actually frustrated with the popularity of the true Islamic message and they are now finding reasons and excuses to silence the prominent and most accepted voice of Dr. Naik and the Peace TV.
“The Sangh Parivar has started a direct war against the Islam and for this purpose they with the help of state power want to silence and eliminate every such voice, person or institution who is representing the Islam and the Muslims,” said Geelani.
He said Dr Naik’s TV channel is doing a commendable job in clearing the misconceptions regarding the Islam all over the world.
“It is preaching and propagating the true message of Islam in the world and many non-Muslim brothers after observing the unmatched and unchallenged teachings of Islam on this channel have and are willfully entering the fold of Islam. This trend has disturbed the fanatic people of RSS and the Sangh Parivar and they are doing all this in frustration,” said Geelani.
“The Indian fanatic and communal people are plotting to silence the Dr. Zakir Naik and its TV channel since very long time but till now they didn’t succeeded in that.”
He also criticized the Indian media for giving too much hype to this “baseless issue and said that in the name of Peace TV, they are actually spreading venom against the Islam and are running a media trial against the Dr. Naik and his TV channel.”
“They, sitting in the news rooms, are leveling allegations as an investigation agency and at the same time are issuing verdicts as the judiciary.”
He cautioned that any attempt to harm the Peace TV or the Dr. Zakir Naik will have a strong reaction in the Jammu & Kashmir and it will take a serious turn which will be uncontrollable for the policy makers of New Delhi.
Addressing the Indian Muslims, the octogenarian leader said that it is a “testing time for them and any carelessness will prove fatal for the community in India and the communal people will eliminate their identity in the region.”
