The Week 9 competition for the JJHuddle & Bucknuts Ohio HS Boys & Girls Lacrosse Teams and Players Of the Week is over. And it was a good one. Over 32,000 votes were cast and this week’s winners are…

WEEK 9 BOYS LACROSSE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

*Kyle Roberts, Upper Arlington

Senior captain scored a career-high five goals to lead Golden Bears to a 15-2 win over North Canton Hoover in the D-I regional finals.

WEEK 9 BOYS LACROSSE TEAM OF THE WEEK

*Toledo St. Francis

Knights ran their win streak to nine and advanced to the D-II state semifinals with an 8-7 OT victory over Columbus DeSales in the state quarterfinals.

WEEK 9 GIRLS LACROSSE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

*Abby Wise, Sycamore

Goalie made seven saves in the Lady Aves 14-6 win over Medina in the D-I state final.

The Lady Aves won their third state title with a 14-6 win over Medina in the state final. Sycamore finished 20-0. It also won state titles in 2007 and 2009. “This was our best team ever,” Sycamore head coach Eddie Clark told Cincinnati.com. “If you’d ask people around the state, they might say this is the best team ever in Ohio. We were just so deep.” The Lady Aves opened up a 6-1 lead and were ahead 11-3 at halftime.
