Eddie Bravo will be hosting his fifth event on December 13th at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles, California. All of his tournaments have been very entertaining, and this one looks to be no different. This time, the lightweights will be taking the stage. Denny Prokopos returns to defend is 155 pound EBI title alongside some old and new faces. Eddie Cummings will be there as well. He tore through the 145 pound bracket last time, and looks to do the same to the 155 pound bracket. The athlete that I’m most excited to see compete is Edwin Najmi. Najmi has had very great success in his career so far, and he is one of the most exciting grapplers I have ever watched. If you haven’t seen him compete, go check out some of his highlights on Youtube. All in all, it looks like Eddie Bravo is going to put on another stellar event.
Now, a lot has been made about which promotion is putting on the best shows. Metamoris, Polaris, and EBI are the three premier jiu jisu promotions in my eyes. Metamoris shows hardly end in submissions, and they do not do a good job of marketing their events. Polaris is still young, but their last show was phenomenal. The only problem I have with them is their partnership with FloGrappling. I like what FloGrappling is doing, but it reminds me of Metamoris. They both want you to subscribe so you can watch the events through their streaming service. EBI is very simple, and has the most exciting matches. You buy the stream from Budo Videos, and you are not locked into any type of subscription service. Metamoris may have the edge in star power, but EBI actually has entertaining matches that don’t end in a draw. That is why I will always support Eddie Bravo’s show over any other.
