Help Leslie illustrate her graphic novel! - ///PLEASE REPOST, YOU COULD END UP WITH A FREE CINTIQ AND TABLET(INTUOS 3)///:

himteckerjam:

Alright, it’s time! I’m Leslie, I’m a digital artist, a woman of color and those who know me understand that I’ve been trying to write and illustrate a Afro-Asian Future/Fantasy graphic novel for quite some time. I’ve finally reached a level of artistic skill that is satisfactory enough, in my eyes, to take this show on the road and start creating all three of the series I have been planning for more than a decade.

There’s just one problem— my machine is outdated and piecemeal. Currently, I do all of my work on a computer I’ve had for a decade with parts constantly breaking down and complete loss of data occuring every six months or so. It’s far too slow for me to work efficiently and loves to shut down without warning every now and again when it isn’t randomly crashing any art programs I have open. I was lucky enough to have had someone buy for me a Cintiq 21UX more than five years ago but the low sensitivity level is not very ergonomic for someone with severe carpal tunnels.

I need help putting together a brand new machine that will last me for quite some time and is capable of keeping the pace with me. I need a machine that will allow me to illustrate 1-2 pages for a graphic novel every day or two that will not freeze or crash because I’m putting down sketch lines too quickly for my 4gbs of RAM and very dated processor to handle. I’m also not doing so well with storage as the most advanced piece of hardware in my current computer is a solid state drive which only has about 120g of space. Total.

My shopping list, should this FundRazr prove successful is:

Cintiq 24HD Touch ($2,999)
Photoshop CS6 ($446)

-Computer parts

NZXT full size tower - ($120)

Asus Sabretooth/Kingston Memory/AMD FX 8 core processor bundle - ($400)
Xtra Kingston 8gb memory module - ($90)

Ultra 750watt PSU - ($70)

2x - XFX FX-787A-CDBC Radeon HD 7870 Black Edition Video Card - ($500, two needed for SLI capability and Zbrush)

2x- Seagate Barracuda internal HDDs - ($140)

Remaining amount? ($235) Shipping of all items, and: See below!

Any help is appreciated! If you cannot donate, please at least share this link anywhere you can. I plan on paying this forward by holding a random giveaway for donors to recieve my current Cintiq21HD for no charge along with a Wacom Intuos3  (6 x 8)tablet and three art pens (regular stylus, airbrush and art brush).  All items are used, obviously, but in perfect working order. I know far too many artists who could use these items and are too poor to afford them.

A little more than $100 will be left over after all parts have been purchased and this will be to cover the cost of sending my used Wacom bundle to the lucky winner! I understand the hardware is quite dated but if it helps another artist in need? That’s all I need!

Please signal boost if you can! The winner of the Cintiq/Intuos tablet will be chosen from Tumblr. You will pay *nothing* for it (Not even shipping, I will cover that)and you also get three badass digital pens with it. They’re used but in perfect order and I know someone out there would appreciate this hardware! To get in the running for the gear, just repost. Liking isn’t enough!

I got super lucky some years back when someone bought this cintiq and tablet for me and, yes, it revolutionized my art something fierce. I would have done QUESTIONABLE things to get my hand on a tablet display and it turned out I didn’t have to. I was so poor that I thought it would never, ever happen but somehow it did. And even though the cintiq and tablet are dated at this point they still work very well and I haven’t had a problem with them yet. The worst damage done to them is a few scratches, not even deep ones, on the Cintiq’s screen. Some poor-as-shit illustrator out there deserves the same happiness that I experienced!

The winner will be chosen at random when the deadline for the Fundrazr ends. Good luck to whoever gets chosen! (The photo below is of Erik Zawadzki’s Cintiq but its the exact same size and model that I’m offering. If a photo of my cintiq is requested it will be provided when I repost this)

NOTE: A DONATION IS NOT REQUIRED TO ENTER. JUST REPOST.
