Diamond, the Houston-based stripper who wowed a shirtless Justin Bieber as he partied at VLive in Houston on Oct. 18, has had her life turned upside down. After chronicling her night with the young singer via her Twitter account @1real_diamond, she felt the wrath of Biebliers who wanted her out of Justin’s life for good. But the 5″8 exotic dancer isn’t letting it get her down. “I had no idea it would cause so much controversy. I’m a pretty laid back girl,” she tells us. Click to read our full exclusive.
Project Runway Winner Dom Streater — What She’ll Do Next!
The DivaGals rooted for Project Runway season 12 winner Dom Streater from her very first print dress. At the Project Runway: All Stars screening party inside New York City’s Hudson Hotel, we found out what the Philly native plans to do next. “I’m working on my Fall/Winter Collection 2014, and I’ll be presenting that at Philly Fashion Week in February,” she shared. Dom will keep designing with prints – that’s her signature style.
“It’s just natural,” she says of her patterned aesthetic. “But my girl is not a wallflower. She’s very optimistic and a happy and joyful person. But she does have a real life where she does have to run around the city and do real work.” Luckily, Dom’s been able to quit her waitress jobs with her prize package (worth half-million dollars), and design full-time. “It’s really awesome, I’m excited about that,” she declared. As one of the show’s few Black designers to win (Trinadian Anya Ayoung-Chee won season 9), Dom feels, “very humbled,” she said. “I’m honored set that example for other young women of color who want to be designers.” Color us inspired!
