Your Jr. Chef can make a Galette (or Crostata) in 7 steps

Classic rustic tart. Once you get the concept down, you won’t need a recipe. After making crust  (cold butter, flour, salt, sugar, ice cold water) cover and refrigerate. Prep fruit filling for a sweet galette, arrange fruit on top leaving 1½” at the edge to fold over carefully (don’t leave cracks or juices will leak out during baking), apply egg wash, sprinkle sugar, and bake. Vegetarian. Links to ‘Leek, Fennel and Mushroom Galette,’ ‘Peach Frangipane Galette,’ and ‘Beet Crostata with Pepper Parmesan Crust.’ Parental supervision.
