Private Resort for Small Groups

Sometimes, you need a need a private place for your team building activities. You are not really into those tiring military games. You want to relax. And you want your team to have some time to bond.

You can find many of these venues in Antipolo. One that I can highly recommend is the Marabella Palace Resort.

This venue has two villas. You can rent one or both for 10 hours and 22 hours stay. The owners usually allow 50 persons per villa, but I do not think that’s comfortable. “Private” to me means that you can move freely and be comfortable with who you are and the persons who are with you. Fifty is just too big a number for a private villa. I think a team of 12 to 15 persons is ideal. And twenty is still okay.

Each villa has 3 airconditioned rooms, two toilets, and 2 shower rooms. You have a fridge and dining table and semi-furnished kitchen. You can cook too because gas and range and barbeque grills are available. Or find out if they can get someone to cook for you.

I believe that the videoke is always part of the package, but you better ask. Inclusions may change anytime. The place is perfect for a getaway. With an excellent facilitator, you can come up with excellent team building experience in the place.

If you have a bigger group, say thirty persons, it is better that you get the two villas.

They also have two function rooms which can accommodate up to 40 participants. I was told that 70 people have onced used the place. My sessions are usually interactive and filled with games. I can use the place for 30-40 persons only. If you like to lecture, then 50 to 70 will be possible.

I suggest that when you go there and you intend to use the function room, ask for the function room plus villa package. Choose the function room at the second floor because it has a nice view of Laguna de Bay and Metro Manila — even on daytime. And you will not need an aircon.

If you want to learn more, I suggest you go schedule an ocular. Use this inquiry form and indicate the time you want them to call you.

FIRST PACIFIC LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

There is no best or worst venue for the teambuilding. What is critical is that the choice was based on the need of the team. It becomes the best if the venue fits the needs of the team and becomes the worst if it doesn’t support the team building design. A good choice is FPLA in Antipolo because of the variety of activities and facilities to use. The location in Antipolo is also a plus being just an hour away from Makati.

MMLDC (NOW FIRST PACIFIC LEADERSHIP ACADEMY)
Mina July 23, 2012 at 7:43 am
Meralco Management and Leadership Development Center Foundation, Inc. or MMLDC is also located in Antipolo. If you want a paintball-themed team building, this is your best bet. According to one review I’ve read, they have the best set up for that. Plus, it’s a huge space where you can do any activity you can think of. They also offer packages.

MMLDC
agnes espino July 23, 2012 at 10:27 pm
It has space and facilities for outdoor team building, function rooms for debriefing and other indoor activities, ample food, helpful Customer Service personnel. Best of all, packages are reasonably priced (value for money) and is near enough to the CBD.

PHILIPP’S SANCTUARY
Mina July 23, 2012 at 7:43 am
I guess it depends on what type of activities you want for your team building and how far your budget will allow. If you want a venue near Makati or Ortigas area, you can try scouting in Rizal, Laguna, Cavite and Bulacan. Rizal is your nearest bet and there are several notable venues that you can check out. In Antipolo, you can find Phillip’s Sanctuary. The place have road courses, bike trails, obstacle challenges, an area for airsoft games and a lake for boating. Hey, there’s zip line and butterfly garden. It’s also a kid-friendly zone so employees with kids can bring theirs (if allowed).

FORTUNE PARK RESORT
Edwin Loto July 23, 2012 at 3:15 pm
I’ve been in Fortune Park Resort in Antipolo and i would say i really would like to back there. If you are a nature lover, that is the perfect place and also great for team building since they can offer a lot of activities and facilities. Finally the best thing there is that the prices are very cheap and affordable.

KABAYAN RESORT
Donna de Luna July 28, 2012 at 10:23 pm
We had our company team building in Kabayan Resort, San Juan Batangas. Only around 3-hour drive from Manila via SLEX.The water is clear and the sand is white. Not a cheap looking beach resort. Accommodations are clean, big and spacious, good for bid groups for overnight stay. There are cottages with kitchen and big dining area with ref, stove, and kitchen utensils. Outside there are cottages fit for a very big group to eat and do your briefing for the day’s activity. We were able to do tug of war, play beach volleyball and perform team song and dance presentations near the shore.Kayak, videoke and billiards are available.

There is a multipurpose hall for indoor activities. They had a rule that there is corkage fee if you bring in food. But on our case, they did not charge us,even for extra persons in a room.Perhaps because we were there on off peak season(August),that’s why they gave in to our every whim.Or maybe it is really ok,we havent tried booking there peak season. They have bar and resto for people who dont want to cook or bring in containers of food.Their food is affordable anyway.

Polite staff are roaming around to keep the resort clean and you can easily ask for anything you need like chairs. We are a group of 120pax,our budget is 1k each including but not limited to transportation, food, accommodation. We were not disappointed with the place,we have plenty of food. We’ll definitely go back there.I can email you some of our pics if you want. There are other resorts id like to discuss coz Im the one who usually book for my department but my post will become nobela if i put them all here..I can email ‘em as well if you want. =)

BATANGAS COUNTRY CLUB
Bryan September 26, 2012 at 2:32 pm
For small to medium size group i would suggest you try Batangas Country Club in Batangas City. We’ve been doing out team building activities there for more than 2 years. The place is quite, rooms are great and the service is superb. The price? very very reasonable.

Team Building Venues in Binangon Rizal

LAKE ISLAND RESORT
Mina July 23, 2012 at 7:43 am
There is also the Lake Island Resort in Binangonan, Rizal. This one doesn’t offer team building facilities like Phillip’s. But, this venue is perfect for outdoor activities like picnics, boating and some R&R. I guess you can just create your own activities just like what we did during our own team building in Bataan (we held our own games and it was fun).

Team Building Venues in Bohol

I facilitated a team building in Amorita Resort, Panglao Island, Bohol. It has large function rooms that can accomodate large number of participants. I was also able to use its garden. The beach is also open to everyone and is safe for outdoor activities. We also built sand sculptures. Find more about Amorita here.

Team Building Venues in Cavite

COFFEE FARMHOUSE and Camp Benjamin
Mina July 23, 2012 at 7:43 am

The Coffee Farmhouse and Camp Benjamin are two venues you can find in Cavite. The former offers venue for team and sport activities such as basketball and volleyball. You can also go camping and make bonfires. I think they offer free (unlimited) coffee. Camp Benjamin, on the other hand, offers team building facilities for wall climbing, rappelling, zip lines and obstacle courses. You can also request for zorb ball, water slides, cargo nets and other facilities that you may need.

There are tons more and I think it really depends on what’s ideal for you and your group. Are you looking for a venue near Metro or would you rather spend a few days away from the city noises? Would you prefer beach venues or mountain setting? Of course, whether you want ready team building facilities or if you will prepare your own games will also play a part in your looking for venue. Plus, don’t forget the budget. Usually, venues with facilities will cost more.

Hope this helps.

CAMP BENJAMIN
Prima Arianna Benavidez September 20, 2012 at 8:58 pm
Being one of our company’s unofficial venue “scouter”, I have gone to various ocular visits and actual team building in the north and south areas. Had you asked the “best” team building venue for me over the last 4 years that we’ve been to, I could have answered MMLDC in Rizal for their great facilities and reasonable price. But since you asked me this year, I would have to answer it with Camp Benjamin in Cavite.

Camp Benjamin is a fairly new entrant in the game but they seem to play it as if they’ve been there for years. They are one of the fastest among those who replied from my online inquiry and dealt with me in the most professional way. It rarely happens to us that we decide on doing an ocular visit until we’ve shortlisted the venues we’ve chosen. But since upon checking their website and FB page everything seems too good to be true, I and my scouting partner decided to drive all the way from Makati to Cavite to check-out the place. We left our office at 6AM and we were there by almost 8AM. We were lucky enough to skip all the traffic and voila—it was all worth it! On the contrary, they are far better than the photos in the internet. And you guessed it right, after a week, we were reserving for our chosen dates ?

Facilities are new and according to the staff who toured us the company has a periodic schedule of maintenance to ensure the safety of the zip line, wall climbing tower, bubble slide, obstacle course and others.

For accommodation they have choices from tent, dormitel to suites and deluxe rooms that will surely cater to whatever budget one may have. I have to say though that the deluxe rooms are a bit small compared to a hotel’s but comfortable enough for 3 persons. But since we spent most of our time in the outdoors, I guess this is the least thing to rant about.

Space for outdoor team building—they have enough green space and a multipurpose court which we were able to use because of the sudden rain. We had to transfer and share it with some P&G and Emerson guys. Good thing it was big enough to accommodate us.

For the function rooms, they have several function tents equipped with exhaust fans (?), electric fans and IATA’s. Our group used the one near the pool and we were comfortable with it. On a side note, I think they mentioned that they have an air-conditioned function room good for 25-30 pax but we did not opt for this since we knew we’ll be sweating after the activities.

Food is great! They offer mostly Filipino cuisine and I heard most ingredients come from their own farm. The taste for me is very home-cooked just like the way I like it.

Customer Service is one of the issues we’ve been discussing until we were on our way home. They have very approachable and patient staff and facilitators even to our picky team members. It has always been a major rant in the past venues we’ve been to.

Price is a subjective issue. It depends on your budget and to whom you are comparing it with. They are not cheap given the many great things they have to offer but I would say they are reasonably priced and they are flexible enough to adjust them if you are charming enough like us ?

Program. Camp Benjamin offers a homegrown program which is called iCross Program. This was authored by their GM who happens to be an HR Specialist. I won’t be detailing on this coz it’s for you to find out but Camp Benjamin is the best for me foremost because of this followed by the items I mentioned above.

Farm. During our free time, we were given the chance to tour the farm where we were able to see vermiculture, feed the animals, harvest plants and inhale tons of negative ions. Some of my teammates really enjoyed this part but for me the farm is just a cherry on top of the cake. The cake itself has satisfied me enough.

Team Building Venues in Laguna

FOREST CLUB,CALIRAYA RECREATION CENTER, AND HOTEL LA CORONA
Mina July 23, 2012 at 7:43 am
If you want areas around Laguna, well you’ve got plenty of choices. But, notable spots are The Forest Club, Caliraya Recreation Center and Hotel La Corona de Pagsanjan. If your team building involves trust and field games and survival games, The Forest Club is the place because they offer just that. Plus, there are venues for some R&R after the games. You can check out the website here: http://www.theforestclub.com.

Caliraya Recreation Center on the other hand offers man-made lake and a giant slide which employees can enjoy after a whole day of fun and activities. They have zipline and i think they also have an area for wall climbing. At Hotel La Corona de Pagsanjan, there is also an area for paintball games (perfect for those who want to try creating team strategy and execution right?).

Hi. If you want to have a memorable, exciting and enjoyable team building you may choose the Caliraya Resort Club Inc. in Laguna, they have good facilities that are suitable for team building. I’ve facilitated workshops there more than a dozen times. They have low and High Ropes facilities, two decent-sized swimming pools and very good customer service and offers tasty native dishes. I’ve also facilitated a couple of paintball games there. Only problem is that they are so in demand that if you plan to hold your team building there, you should make reservation well ahead of time.

WOO BIN RESORT
Donna de Luna July 29, 2012 at 10:08 am
If you want to go north and you have tight budget, i suggest you check out Woo Bin Resort in Olongapo City Only 2-3hrs drive from Manila. They dont have white sand but the water is clear and the sand is clean and free of shells that hurt you if you walk barefoot. As of summer 2012 big rooms with videoke fronting the shore are rented for 4k that can accommodate 10pax or more without extra charge. They sometimes charge if you ask for extra matresses and sometimes they dont.Depending on your negotiation skills with the resort keeper.Function Hall is available. There is a volleyball area. You can bring in food, no corkage fee.Cooking and grilling is allowed.Island hopping and jet ski are also available. You can create tons of activities as the place is spacious. If you come in a large group,i suggest to rent the whole place or rent all the front shore rooms at least.Staff are available to assist in carrying heavy things and buying something from the palengke.Entrance fee is 100 or 120/pax.You can also check out the other resorts nearby,i saw one that is a lil appealing than Woo Bin which holds night parties with live bands and henna tattoes.Im just not sure if that resort is costly.

Clearwater Resort
Elldon King D. Arabit July 30, 2012 at 4:45 pm
http://www.clearwaterphilippines.com/

Pampanga Angeles City and Clark Philippines is a popular choice for event organizers and company event planners because it is safe, secure and conveniently accessible from Manila. The short travel time from Manila to Clark means there is more time for participants to enjoy the programs, relax and unwind in the outdoor facilities of this highly recommended resort hotel in Clark. The large space and the availability of over 10 private venues of this top rated hotel in Clark Pampanga to choose from make this hotel resort a frequently used venue for team building, company outings, school holidays and family reunions.

What really defines the ambience and lifestyle of this private outdoor resort in Clark is its spacious picnic grounds. The largest one is called the Brunello Garden which can easily accommodate functions and events for 3000 or more. Being several hectares in area, this amenity of Clearwater Resort is frequently visited for family picnics. Visitors from Manila travel to Clark to unwind and relax underneath old Acacia trees in the Brunello Gardens. This is one way for stressed out city residents to spend quality time in a leisure laidback pace.

Amenities of Clark’s 13-hectare lake resort hotel includes lake, beach, several large and small swim spots, frolic garden, amphitheatre, picnic grounds, biking trail, fishing, airsoft shooting range, camp grounds, lawn tennis, water sports, volley ball, jogging trail, boating and kayaking. Clearwater Hotel Resort is a famous location for tourists and residents alike. This child-friendly hotel is particular appealing to families.

Room accommodation is basic, furniture a little sparse compared to resort hotels. One could characterize the lodgings to be in the class of bed-and-breakfast and not luxurious. The view from some of the rooms is quite beautiful especially in the morning. Watching sunrise in Pampanga Clark Philippines from a lake-house room at this lake resort is a memorable experience especially for visitors from Manila coming to the North to get away from the city with families and friends.

There is a casual café with a beautiful view which serves good breakfast and basic lunch and dinner. Foodies can opt to drive over to Mimosa about 3 minutes away just a bit too far to walk, to have dinner at the fine-dining Yats Restaurant and Wine Bar. This cozy and romantic restaurant serves French Mediterranean cuisine at prices that are surprisingly affordable. For wine lovers, this restaurant in Mimosa Clark Freeport Pampanga is a treat with its award winning 3000-line wine lists that contain not only the famous labels but also connoisseurs’ choice of fine vintage wines.

Getting to this beach resort in Pampanga Angeles City Clark Philippines
After entering Clark Freeport from Dau and Angeles City, proceed straight along the main highway MA Roxas, passing the stand-along wine shop called Clark Wine Center on the right, continue to bear right making no turns at all, go past Mimosa Leisure Estate on the opposite side of the road, one will hit a major intersection. Go straight and the road becomes Creekside Road. YATS Clearwater Resort and Country Club is on the right just 200m down.

PHINMA TRAINING CENTER in Tagaytay City
Elldon King Arabit July 28, 2012 at 6:30 pm

Phinma is a great place to have not only your team building workshops but any training programs you can think of. They’ve got a great facility and the staff is very flexible and willing to help make your program a success. I strongly recommend this venue. Team Building Venues in Tanay

TANAY ADVENTURE CAMP
Lawrence Baribar July 25, 2012 at 11:11 am
Hi Jef,
If your really looking for the best team building venue in the Philippines, I would suggest and bet this new Tanay Adventure Camp.
My first visit here was with my co-rider club in which we are only to check the campsite if already done. Yes, it was last January 1, 2012 the campsite is still on-going for development. When I was there, the buildings are already completed, and landscape are already prepared to finish the swimming pool and adventure trails. Just entering this adventure campsite is so exciting since you should have to drive or walk just like on a mountain to reach the main site. It was located at Brgy. Sampaloc Tanay, Rizal which you will surely enjoy the way/road you will have to take before you can locate the Tanay Adventure Camp. The road going there was named as Marilaque/Marifanta that is popular to riders who loves long driving. It was a clean road in which only few vehicle are passing by here. I can also suggest that to bring your a bicycle so that you can easily track the whole site. Anyway, as I check to them they are now also offering trekking. Since the venue is near to Batlag & Daranak falls, you can take their trekking adventure which it would only cost 10ophp as transporation fee. Typical wall climbing, mud slide, camping, racing, zip line, cave adventure do offered here at Tanay Adventure Camp. I believe the facilitators there are hospitaly good that you will get to enjoy their service. Foods are cheap also but I would recommend to bring your own. Well, that’s only share I can give since we still haven’t stayed there for long, we only just pass by trough it when we are having a group ride.

To check more about the Tanay Adventure, you can visit the site: http://www.tanayadventurecamp.com/
I have the brocure from them, but I can’t find it on my tool box. Sorry for that.
Have a great day,
Lawrence

CLUB MANILA EAST
Jeffrey Siy July 22, 2012 at 11:41 pm
I agree that there are a lot of team building locations are poor in both quality and facility. I have been both an organizer and a participant of a team building sessions and I found that having water around always makes activity fun. If you are looking for a team building location near Manila, I would suggest you try Club Manila East. There are artificial waves where you can try to either swim or learn to surf. I guess you try to think of great games and team building activities within that area. There are also cabins you can rent for the day. Some are big enough to hold meetings and workshops

I suggest Dawal beach resort in Zambales, I’ve been there once, but I really enjoyed the stay there with my officemates few years ago.. we went to Potipot Island near the resort by riding in a boat If I can still remember 150/head, there’s a place for activities, a private pool, a room for 10-15 persons, restaurant, souvenirs and it’s really budget friendly.
