SLS LAS VEGAS OPENS ITS DOORS
Vegas’ newest resort will open its doors on Aug. 23. SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is an all-encompassing resort and casino with more than 1,600 guest rooms and suites in three distinctive towers, 80,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and a collection of sbe’s acclaimed restaurant and nightlife brands. Opening this month, SLS Las Vegas provides an approachable experience featuring multiple unparalleled nightlife offerings including a reinvention of the popular live music hotspot, The Sayers Club, the edgy and sophisticated nightclub and lounge, Foxtail, and the 20,000-square-foot mega-club, LiFE. Additionally, SLS Las Vegas features an impressive selection of dining concepts including Ku Noodle and Bazaar Meat by José Andrés, Katsuya, Cleo, Umami Burger, The Griddle Cafe, The SLS Buffet and The Perq. The property also hosts a 10,000-square-foot Fred Segal retail experience and a sports book operated by global gaming leader, William Hill.
THE LAS VEGAS HILTON - NOW PART OF WESTGATE RESORTS
Westgate Resorts recently announced the acquisition of the LVH – Las Vegas Hotel & Casino as the newest addition to its portfolio of 28 resorts. The property was formerly known as the Las Vegas Hilton and will be renamed Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. The LVH is a landmark property that, at one time, was the largest hotel in the world and was home to such legendary greats as Elvis Presley and Liberace during Vegas’s golden age. The new Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino is located just one block off the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, is adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center, and is one of seven stations on the Las Vegas Monorail. With nearly 3,000 rooms, including 300 opulent suites, Westgate will convert some of the rooms to luxury timeshare villas while still operating the resort hotel rooms and suites.
THE NEW DELANO LAS VEGAS
Delano Las Vegas, the luxury all-suite hotel that will debut at Mandalay Bay in September has completed the installation of its first exterior Delano sign high atop the Las Vegas Strip. Although the installation of the Delano sign is one of the first major visible milestones in the transformation, it is only a small part of everything happening on the ground and behind the scenes in preparation for opening Sept. 1.
THE NEW LINQ HOTEL & CASINO
Caesars Entertainment recently announced its newest property, unveiling The LINQ Hotel & Casino as the latest addition to its portfolio of iconic Las Vegas resorts. Located at the heart of Center Strip at 3535 Las Vegas Boulevard, the LINQ Hotel & Casino is a complete re-imagination of the current Quad Resort & Casino. The Las Vegas hotel will feature 2,256 brand new rooms and suites, a completely renovated welcome experience built around a signature lobby bar, all new retail and spa amenities and a dynamic new pool deck to deliver an entirely new guest experience. Combined with the world’s largest observation wheel, the High Roller, and The LINQ retail, dining and entertainment promenade, The LINQ Hotel & Casino is set to become the new social center of Las Vegas and will welcome its first guests beginning on Oct. 30. Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino invites guests to abandon their day jobs and get their feet (or in this case, hands) wet as a guest Aquarist with three new experiential programs. Aptly titled Animal Encounters, the program takes participants behind-the-scenes to assist in feeding the Aquarium’s most-admired residents including stingrays, green sea turtles and zebra sharks. The Venetian Las Vegas to Feature ‘Georgia on my Mind: Celebrating the Music of Ray Charles”
The Venetian Las Vegas and GOMM Productions, LLC have partnered to bring a special engagement – Georgia on my Mind: Celebrating the Music of Ray Charles – to The Venetian Theatre this fall. This groundbreaking new show will feature a host of esteemed stars, including Emmy award-winner Clint Holmes, 10-time GRAMMY award-winning vocal group TAKE 6, six-time GRAMMY nominee and DownBeat Vocalist of the Year Nnenna Freelon, and Stella Gospel Award and GRAMMY award-winning saxophone star Kirk Whalum. Batman Laser Challenge Brings Gotham City to The Adventure Dome at Circus Circus
The Batman Laser Challenge at The Adventuredome at Circus Circus Las Vegas invites guests to test their inner Super Hero with a fun, physical and mental workout. Using speed and strategy to beat the clock, would-be crime fighters can choose between two experiences, each brought to life with radiating wall-to-wall lasers, fog and themed audio tracks to guide or hinder the racer as they attempt to complete the mission. The five-acre theme park has teamed up with SimEx-Iwerks which, in partnership with Warner Bros. and DC Comics, has created this first-ever Batman themed laser maze.
Cowabunga Bay Water Park Now Open
Cowabunga Bay Waterpark in Henderson is now open. The family owned $26 million dollar leisure water park, with more than 450 employees, includes many family fun slides and attractions in the 23 acre site, conveniently placed off the ’95 Highway at Galleria in Henderson. The 50’s surf themed water park showers guests with thrilling water slides, such as the spine tingling Zooma Zooma (which drops guests 73 feet in the air at high speeds), Point Panic, an enclosed pitch dark water slide with unique lighting features as you increase speed), giant wave pool, lazy river (the largest in Nevada), delicious food, cabana rentals, VIP area with a private pool, and a "Cowabunga Kids Cove," which is a miniature slide and splash zone area built especially for beginning and little swimmers. ‘Viva Veracruz’ to Make American Debut at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

The production is the story of a traveler’s walk through the legends and colorful history of Veracruz, Mexico.
