Job Description

Overview:
Siemens Power Distribution Solutions in Norcross, Georgia s looking for a buyer. This position is responsible for processing requisitions, materials planning and manage inventory for PDS Business. This person reports to the Business Process Manager and will have no direct reports.

Responsibilities:
Participates in buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedites as needed and serves as liaison between vendors and users, getting prior approval for purchases in excess of established limits. Resolves semi-complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices. Participates in tracking and updating project spend; reviews and analyzes requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases. Requests for quotes and assists in the development of new supply source.

Other responsibilities include:
1. Placing and managing orders with 3rd party external suppliers as well as internal suppliers, while managing open orders and past due deliveries.
2. Completing the commercial unboarding in SAP for new suppliers
3. Maintain and update PO/AR Tracking Log
4. Daily resolution to issues pertaining to invoicing and payment on the MRBR problem log
5. Keeping track patent invoices for finance on a monthly basis
6. Review materials, set vendor for auto POs as needed, update PIR and resolve POs issues
7. Is willing to learn and improve/develop procurement processes
8. Work closely with multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas to troubleshoots and resolves problems on POs
7. Proactively follow up on open POs and expedite with supplier as required.
8. Will be continually challenged to resolve issues under a fast paced work environment

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

* 2-5 years in a buyer role.

* Strong verbal and written communication, along with excellent decision making and time management skills.

* Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

* SAP experience.

* Proficient in Microsoft office products.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

* Previous procurement/buying experience highly preferred

* Strong computer skills in MS Office applications (especially Excel preferred).

* Siemens internal ERP system such as EZ-Suite

Education
2 yr Associate degree for accredited community college, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
