The candidate should be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment that includes multiple platforms and architectures, diverse technologies and lab environments. The individual will work closely with developers, system engineers, product managers and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC, executing test iterations, tracking / reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating defect resolution. The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes, requirements traceability and the QA lifecycle and methodology.
** Responsibilities:
* Interact with product management, project management and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives
* Develop test plans, design and create tests and scripts to address business and technical use cases
* Use existing tools and techniques to execute test cases for performing testing/validation function
* Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
* Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using ClearQuest or similar tools
**Experience/Skills:
* Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in development and/or testing role.
* Experience with different Operating Systems, including embedded systems such as QNX, Windows embedded, VxWorks, etc.
* Good understanding of object oriented programming, .NET, etc
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proven track record of success with the ability and willingness to share information and cross-train peers
* Proven ability to handle and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously
* Must be flexible, independent and self-motivated
* Experience with requirements management tools such as JAMA is a plus
* Experience with transportation systems is a plus.
**Education:
* BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or other related degree.
