Title: Web Content Editor

Position Summary

The Web Content Editor will be responsible for developing
and maintaining web site content for research functions of Weill Cornell
Medical College, working closely with client departments to ensure their web
content is up to date, accurate, and using an acceptable tone and voice. Edits and proofreads site content, the
incumbent will also work closely with the UI/UX Designers, Web Producers, and
Web Specialists to maintain content standards for new and existing web
properties.

Position Activities

· Acts as primary content manager for digital
assets on multiple web sites as assigned. Completes edits as requested by the
respective business units, External Affairs, or college leadership. Deploys
content through content management platforms.

· Reviews and edits document submissions from
clients, both operationally and during project processes, for accuracy, tone,
and voice.

· Creates, edits, and publishes content for WCMC
web properties, online publications, and other channels as necessary.

· Reviews web analytics to understand site traffic
and ensures content is being accessed successfully.

· Works with Web Communications clients to build
an understanding of their business, services, and audience, to help in auditing
the content strategy of their web sites.

· Reviews peer and competitor websites; prepares
reports on competitive advantages and disadvantages to help WCMC units optimize
their web presence.

· Maintains compliance with web standards and best
practices at the institution.

· Stays relevant to emerging trends in subject
areas related to content management, online channel optimization, and the
Drupal platform. Attends relevant training and conferences as necessary.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor''s Degree in English, Journalism,
Technical writing, Communications, or a related field.

· At least 1 year experience in writing, editing,
and proofreading web content. (Please
submit samples.)

· Experience consuming and producing content
across a wide range of hardware and applications. (Mac, PC, MS Office, Adobe

· Creative Suite, Visio, HTML, RSS Feeds, etc)

· Working knowledge of HTML and content management
systems.

Highly Desired Requirements

· Experience working in the education, research,
or health care sectors a plus.

· Familiarity with Drupal a strong plus.

· Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite.

· Experience providing editorial consultation as a
client service.

Skill and Abilities

· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal
skills, capable of working in a team with developers, project managers,
business analysts, and clients.

· Ability to self-organize and prioritize work.

· Attention to detail

· Ideal candidate should be able to accommodate
many different work-styles and personalities while maintaining productivity.
