**_Job Description Summary_**

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction for Process Leads and Process Technicians in accordance with the vision and values of the corporation. Model and demonstrate a “Culture of Safety” for Leads and all employees by actively utilizing systems and processes that achieve an employee driven, hazard controlled environment. Hold self and Process Leads accountable for adherence to standards, policies & regulations for the safe, environmentally compliant, production of a quality precast concrete product. Implement and adhere to the execution of the daily/weekly run plan and all continuous improvement initiatives. Implement and adhere to the predictive/preventative maintenance plans by utilizing the maintenance management system for the facility, ensure asset reliability meets or exceeds performance expectations. Actively participate in training and development of self and others as part of the plant and regional succession planning program. Assume Production Manager responsibilities as needed.

**_Position Responsibilities_**

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Implement the daily/weekly production schedule through communication and follow-up with Process Leads
* Participate/contribute in formal and informal communications for staff and employees (e.g. morning safety huddle, mid-day meeting, maintenance planning, etc.)
* Develop self & Process Leads for advancement and contribution to success of the business
* Conduct proper training of employees to advance the business
* Participate in the selection process for leads and technicians
* Provide input for plant/yard layout, ensuring optimal safety and efficiency and coordinate the execution of the plan
* Perform regular cycle counts to ensure finished goods inventory meets TWC targets for the business
* Conduct monthly OSHA compliance training according to schedule requirements
* Active member of the safety committee, promoting awareness for safety programs/initiatives and driving improvement towards an employee driven, hazard controlled, environment
* Utilize the maintenance program to ensure plant achieves asset reliability goals
* Maintain thorough knowledge of precast processes and equipment, have workable knowledge of industry technological developments and best practices
* Assist in the corrective action/progressive disciplinary process for all operation techs
* Lead new hire orientation & training for the facility
* Verify actual production to plan, prior to posting
* Receive daily/monthly inspections for equipment and rolling stock, review for compliance issues and take appropriate action
* Formulate & implement corrective actions based on variance to the run plan
* Monitor usage of key consumables (OPC items) to ensure proper stocking levels
* Other duties as assigned

**_Education_**

* Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 3+ years leadership experience in an industrial environment leading multiple departments or, Associates'' degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Production or related field
* Bachelors’ degree preferred

**_Experience_**

* 3+ years’ demonstrated manufacturing supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
