This position is for a Project Manager with a university located in Starkville, MS. Position Function: Responsible for all technical aspects of coordination of the Mississippi Excellence in Teaching program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Recruit candidates for the MET program including development of recruitment materials (e.g., website, brochures, ads, etc.) and travel to recruiting events in schools; Serve as a liaison to the University of Mississippi in executing the MET program; Advise and assist students enrolled in the program, including academic advisement; Collaborate with the Office of Clinical/Field-based Instruction, Licensure and Outreach to coordinate field experiences for MET participants in schools; Provide mentoring for MET participants and professional development in partnering school districts; Develop and lead off-campus national and international education-related travel for MET participants; Support research efforts affiliated with the MET program, including data collection, management of databases, and interpretation of data; Engage in public relations to support the MET program, Departments in the College of Education (COE), and the COE; Supervise graduate and undergraduate student workers; Assist in teaching undergraduate courses associated with the MET program in secondary education; Engage in duties related to the administration of the MET program including record keeping and communications; Other duties related to recruitment and the MET program activities as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education in English or Math; Five years of educational experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Secondary Education in English or Math; Experience as a middle and/or high school teacher; Experience as a grant project coordinator; Experience with high-achieving students.
