# Job Description
Sr EUC Solution (Domain) Architect
VMware, the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, delivers customer-proven solutions that accelerate IT by reducing complexity and enabling more flexible, agile service delivery.
The Solution Architect will work closely with the VMware field account sales teams (EUC Sales Overlay and Services Sales team including Pre Sales) to drive bookings for End User Computing Solutions and Projects, focusing primarily on large deals with major accounts.
The Solution Architect needs to be proficient in all the other VMware practices and be able to manage all opportunities leading to revenue.
An understanding of what it takes to implement an EUC transformational Project ideally with being personally involved in large such project.
Expertise in Change Management and Transformation of the full complement of People, Process and Technology is critical to presenting a solution that is aligned to the customer’s long-term EUC strategy. As well as proposing the solution, the architect must also be capable of helping the customer understand the business impact and change required to adopt a new EUC methodology.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the pre-sales Services and Solution process to understand customer business and technical objectives and product requirements
* Able to translate business requirements into capabilities that can be delivered with the VMware EUC set of solutions and show how this can provide business benefit and value to the customer
* Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of the VMware EUC portfolio of products and solutions including the Services on offer.
* Able to navigate stakeholder community in customer to gain consensus to a VMware EUC strategy.
* Able to communicate effectively at CIO and Chief Architect level to articulate and differentiate the VMware EUC solution
* Ability to navigate and orchestrate the VMware technical, commercial and product management communities.
* Be involved intimately across the entire Project lifecycle from early stages through to Project signoff spanning pre sales and implementation working closely with Professional Services Organisation (PSO) closely including aspects of delivery themselves.
* A senior technical leader with independence and gravitas that the customer will respect and look to for guidance on long-term technical and architectural strategy.
Requirements:
* Relevant IT experience
* Strong customer-facing experience as a professional services consultant or architect, preferably with a software or “Big 5” consulting organization ideally with some pre-sales experience
* Solid experience consulting as a business/systems analyst or IT manager with a focus on IT operations
* Consistent experience with modern IT operations methodologies such as ITIL, with emphasis on IT process improvement
* Proven technical writing ability ideally with consulting intellectual property material development experience
* Proven ability to analyse IT cost side factors and corresponding TCO and financial analysis
* Proven experience with EUC related toolsets (VMware, Symantec, HP, IBM/Tivoli, Landesk, Microsoft, Citrix etc)
* Proven experience delivering IT organization EUC transformation projects
* Understanding of, and operational experience with, VMware EUC products
* Understanding of EUC Cloud Computing operating principles, features, and benefits for Service Providers, Enterprise, Small, and Medium-size business customers
* Familiarity with systems management concepts, processes and standards; capacity/performance management and tuning; and storage and network management
* A good practical understanding of workflow development
* Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
* Ability to travel within (UK and EMEA)
* ITIL v3 Foundation
* Preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent operations/technical training
