PSD Rental Prep/Yard Technician

Description: PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Maintains PSD Rental inventory and yard by properly receiving/disbursing rental equipment that is returned and that is shipped; Maintains the organization of PSD Rental assets on the PSD Rental yard.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Prepare new generator sets for delivery to customers. Including but not limited to:
Loading and unloading from trucks
- Moving generators/AC and Chiller Units in yard on forklift
- Running Rental Generators, adjusting and load bank testing as required
Prep units for rental opportunities by insuring it is in peak presentable condition
Test the units prior to delivery to insure they are in good operational condition,
Service the units to help insure continuity of availability during rental opportunity.
- Perform Equipment -Check-in- when units are returned from Rental opportunities. .
- Perform routine maintenance on Rental units as necessary.
- Wash units
- Painting (touch up)
- Perform minor repairs
- Work with other departments when necessary as determined by supervisor
**** Works with chemicals such as Diesel fuel, gasoline, sulfuric acid and high-pressure washers, paint thinners, paints
- Maintain Rental yard inventory

- Basic hand tools required special tools would be supplied.
- Assisting the Rental Specialist as directed.
- Work in jobs as determined by supervisor
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
GED/ High School graduate preferred;
Work Experience:
Possess the ability to perform moderate systems repair and assembly by trouble-shooting and using various diagnostic equipment; Should have a working knowledge of CAT literature systems and be proficient in at least one mechanical system (i.e. hydraulics, transmissions, electrical, etc.). Regularly meets over 80%25%20of job time repair standards. This standard usually takes up to four years direct work experience. Can work independently with minimal supervision; Has operated or can quickly learn to operate various PSD Rental products or equipment. .
Physical:
Shop Activity- Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb beside, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs. Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 50 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
Yard Activity- Includes all physical shop activity standards. Additionally, must be able to daily operate a service vehicle and drive for extended periods to reach customer-s locations.
Other:
Can work independently with minimal supervision; Demonstrates good organizational skills; Demonstrates and communicates genuine customer service skills. Ability to read and comprehend shipping information and follow through on verbal communications;
