Armstrong World Industries, Inc. has a job opportunity for a Director, Global Compensation at our corporate headquarters in Lancaster, PA. As the Director, Global Compensation you will direct the strategic planning, design, implementation, maintenance, regulatory compliance, communication, and administration of all corporate-wide global compensation programs consistent with the organization’s human capital objectives.

**Key Responsibilities of the Director, Global Compensation:**

* Responsible for implementation and management of global compensation philosophy, methodology, programs and guidelines for company, to help attract and retain highly talented employees and encourage excellence in performance.

* Maintains strategic focus on building strong relationships with key customers, understanding the business and delivering quality services and products that continue to evolve and support key business needs.

* Consult with HR Business Partners/Consultants on the alignment of compensation programs with business strategies and issues of pay around the globe.

* Deliver annual plan for global pay programs (merit, bonus and equity programs) and business specific incentive plans.

* Establishes global salary structures, develops salary budget, and prepares policies and procedures to insure the achievement of equitable and competitive employee compensation.

* Oversees and participates in annual benchmarking of total compensation program and ensures programs are current with regard to trends, practices, and costs. Stays ahead of emerging needs/trends

* Coordinates annual cycle on sales compensation design

* Leads all work related to equity grants; securities registrations internationally,

* Works with outside advisors to assure international equity awards are made in context of local securities law and establish guidelines so that vesting/payout of equity awards meet requirements for applicable tax, securities and accounting treatment and exemptions.

* Facilitates special projects such as pay-for-performance analysis, HR dashboards, complex statistical analyses, data modeling, and gathering and analysis of global market data and trends.

* Participates in development and administration of performance management system to ensure compliance with salary administration guidelines

* Participates in preparation of executive compensation materials for Compensation Committee

* Participates in preparation of Proxy materials and other SEC filings

* Maintains a working knowledge of international, federal, and state legislation influencing compensation Works with Finance, Legal, and Tax departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with all tax laws

**Required Qualifications for the Director, Global Compensation:**

Initially, this is an individual contributor role that is expected to be hands-on. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

* Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, human resource, or related area

* 10–12 or more years of strategic global compensation management experience with strong analytical experience

* Knowledge, understanding, and application of Federal and State employment laws, SEC regulations and tax laws, as well as international labor laws and securities laws

* Experience in executive compensation and benefits

* Ability to exercise discretion in handling sensitive, confidential matters

* Excellent problem solver and independent thinker who has the ability to create innovative solutions

* Strong analysis/quantitative skills and the ability to translate analysis into actionable tasks

* Strong MS Excel and Access skills and power point presentation skills

* Great organizational skills and flexibility to perform under multiple deadlines

* Proven judgment skills and ability to influence
