**Position Description:**

CGI is currently hiring an IT Project Manager with both Infrastructure experience and application development experience for the west side Energy Corridor of Houston, TX.
Duration: multiple year assignment
Location: west side

Responsibilities include:

* Holds a professional qualification in Project Management (PMP or Prince certified).
Familiar with Agile/Scrum project methodology and/or certified SCRUM Master

* Manage the process of renovations of IT/data centers

* Coordinate the construction of IT infrastructure and deployment projects

* Experience with the disassembly of audio/visual equipment from multiple locations and management of surplus equipment.

* Managing project teams

* Team Building

* Managing project processes

* Create project plans with Microsoft Project

* Report on schedule performance, milestones, risks, issues, impacts, and priorities with weekly status report.

* Review status with stakeholders during weekly program meeting and with clients during weekly client review.

* Facilitate brainstorming sessions and team meetings to review documentation, processes and architectural standards to define and execute project goals.

* The activities will include rollout of new technology, capacity additions, optimization, and preventative maintenance across Networks.

* Project Management methodologies as related to Infrastructure, application management, application deployment, transition-to-support, vendor manaagement,

* Overall responsibility to achieve the project goals with respect to plans, risk, issues, stakeholder management, resources, time and budget, and for the progress of the project.

* Generates project reports including status, risks, issues, and action items.

* Lead responsibility for activities relating to planning, scheduling, execution, budgeting, and forecasting.

* Ensures compliance with all guidelines under the Project Management Office Change Management activities.

* Resource management of matrixed project team.

* Understand and assure quality standards are met on assigned deliverables.

* Possess expert understanding of project methods and processes.

Skills/Educational Requirements:

* Bachelor''s degree in a Technical Field such as Computer Science/Computer Engineering and/or 5 to 7 years’ experience as an Infrastructure/Application Development focused Project Manager

* PMP Certification strongly preferred

* Network Deployment experience:

* Network Systems Engineering knowledge

* Excellent communications, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

* Flexible person with the ability to manage stressful situations and adapt to changing environments.

* Demonstrates capacity for taking ownership of issues and working them through to resolution.

* Takes a logical and orderly approach to analyzing problems, organizing work and planning actions.

* Global and virtual project work experience in an oil and gas industry

* Ability to work with people with various backgrounds.

* Identifies needs of both internal and external customers and meets or exceeds their expectations.

Solid experience with MS Project, MS Vision, and MS Office Suite
Solid team development and management of people, processes, and vendors.

* Has gained considerable experience working with projects.

* Has proven leadership skills, and a good knowledge of business analysis

* Proven ability to apply industry best practice project management methodology.

* Has strong planning, communication and presentation skills, is proficient in project quality management, and familiar with program management.

* Has good current knowledge of IT standards, applications and trends, especially considering SharePoint.

* Skilled in using and applying Project Management Methods, Project Planning & Control Techniques.

* Skilled in writing business cases.

* Is able to obtain information from business people in face to face situations, and to analyze information on users’ occupational tasks obtained by a variety of formal and informal means.

* Has an analytical and creative approach to problem solving.

* Has sound understanding of the costs of IT (project and “lifetime”) and the ability to cost operational IT services.

* Skilled at identifying benefits which come in the form of cost savings both within IT and in the business, in relation to the operational cost of the IT service.

* Very good stakeholder management skills.

* Knowledge of the software engineering life-cycle for development and the concepts and practices required to implement effective information systems.

* Knowledge of the IT support / operations environment.

* Self awareness and motivation and is able to plan and schedule own work competently.

* Is able to meet deadlines of different deliverables.

* Defines, documents, and actively participates in all phases of the project.

* Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to the success of the project.

* Effectively estimates costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference.

* Prepares and maintains realistic project and quality plans and tracks all activities against the plans, providing regular and accurate reports to senior management, and client/user management as appropriate.

* Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances.

* Provides effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience.

* Actively represents the project team, ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained with the business.

* Ensures that project is formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and actioned.

* Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes.

* Manages the change control procedure and ensures that project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off.

* Evaluates and makes recommendations/decisions on technical options as appropriate.
