**The Role:**

The Director of IT Development, will lead Live Nation’s IT Software Engineering team and provide strategic technology leadership for our product development. The individual must have experience managing small and large development teams and in building elegant technical solutions to business problems. Technical expertise in a variety of technologies is assumed. Qualified applicants must have work-related experience as a manager of development within a high-volume, high-transaction environment. The individual is responsible for management of the planning, design, development, and implementation of key components of various LNE IT solutions. This individual is responsible for overall management of the work performance of resources and project delivery.

**Responsibilities:**

* Manage, lead, and mentor teams of software engineers
* Manage full product lifecycle (design, implementation, code review, release)
* Manage staff and outsourced services for application development, testing and program management. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the staff
* Support international product rollout as needed
* Maintain development schedule; responsible for meeting schedule and quality requirements
* Guarantee system availability/performance
* Provide strategic insight into development of new products
* Participate in specification review with product team and / or business stakeholders
* Must be fluent in both web-based development technologies and platforms, and desktop client software
* Define team roles and responsibilities and set team objectives
* Develop and enforce adherence to IT principles and best business practices

**Management Skills:**

* Project management

* Expertise leading global projects, including developing work plans, meeting deadlines, budgets and schedules (able to manage a team of 25+ persons onshore and offshore)

* Ability to manage ongoing global projects

* Strong understanding of project management methodologies including requirements gathering and analysis, task estimates and work breakdown approach, and functional design and analysis

* Ability to manage application development, enhancements, and support in a large/complex environment, including outsourced services

* Expertise in managing project milestones and ensuring that projects are tightly tracked and reported on

* Process expertise

* Expertise in continual process design, improvement, and implementation with a focus on managing risk and delivery dates

* Ability to drive IT principles, standards and processes (software development lifecycle, etc.)

* An understanding of SOX and / or PCI compliance requirements and implementation, and / or ISO standards compliance

* Strong written and oral communication skills

* Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts in business language (both orally and written, includes written program documentation as well as documenting process flows & data flow diagrams)

* Financial modeling expertise

* Proven expertise in time tracking and actual cost management

* Ability to manage vendors and external contractors

* Staff and Contracted Services Management

* Ability to manage staff and contracted services in coordinated manner to achieve support and project requirements

* Experience writing formal performance reviews and presenting to team members

* Experience working with team members re: career counseling, mentoring and guidance

* Ability to interview potential employees/consultant candidates and provide hiring recommendations

**Education Required:**

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Job Requirements :

**Experience / Qualifications:**

* 7-10 years software development experience with proven experience leading cross-functional projects in matrixed environments with high integration across lines of business and technical disciplines.

* 10+ years with full life-cycle software development

* 6+ years technical management experience, including that of remote teams, offshore and contractors

* 6+ years experience architechting high volume, transactional, n-tier web systems

* Database design, SQL/MySql database experience

* Expert level knowledge of the Microsoft .NET Platform in a SOA/Web Service environment using XML/XSD/XSL, C#, ADO.NET, SQL Server 2008, TSQL, SSRS, SSIS

* Experienced at leading development life cycle process and best practices, hiring and mentoring in a technical organization

* Experience working with structured development methodologies with an emphasis on an iterative approach. Exposure to Agile methodologies a plus.

* Advanced understanding of the Microsoft Solutions Stack and the .NET Architecture

* A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts, the principals of routing and client/server programming

* Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment while maintaining a positive attitude

* As new technologies emerge and impact our systems, expected to learn these technologies very quickly and resolve any problems involved in integrating new technologies with our systems.

* Detailed knowledge of core computer languages, data structures, operating systems and development tools

* Expert knowledge of computer logic, flow-charting, program design methodology and techniques

* Ability to learn new programming languages quickly and experience and ability to teach new concepts to other developers

* Good knowledge of mathematical and statistical principles, methodologies and formulas.

* Ability to determine whether hardware, operating systems software, application programs cause a particular problem, or network failures.

* Solid knowledge of security and encryption.

* Overall knowledge of the computing environment at large, e.g. typical uses and user populations of operating systems, communications protocols, hardware platforms, etc.

* Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills enabling you to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization including business stakeholders, senior management, peers and project and quality assurance teams.

* Extensive experience with Microsoft Project and other MS Office tools.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.

* Financial Transaction systems a plus

* Familiarity with the entertainment industry and / or the live entertainment industry a plus
