This position is within Studio Production

The Preditor (Producer/Editor) has attained a high level of operational skill and technical knowledge and has demonstrated the ability to operate all related broadcast equipment within their area of operation. This includes but not limited to; HD/SD non-linear editing and electronic news gathering systems, VTRs, broadcast routers, and the media management process and various other applications.
The Preditor participates in and supports the creative development and production of key show elements and is asked to write and produce assigned teases, features and cover stories.
The Preditor is expected to understand and follow all ESPN technical standards.

The following position will be part of “The SEC-ESPN Network” and will be based in Charlotte, NC. The Southeastern Conference on ESPN is a new network and its accompanying digital platform will air SEC content 24/7 including more than 1,000 events in its first year, serving a growing base of SEC fans. Hundreds of additional live events from various sports will be offered exclusively on ESPN’s digital platforms. This position will challenge your creativity and ability to work under pressure in order to deliver the highest quality content in a media market that is growing more competitive.

The Southeastern Conference was formed in 1932 and consists of 14 member institutions: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M;, and Vanderbilt.

# Responsibilities

* Must possess advanced understanding of Production workflows, proven writing and producing skills, and demonstrated ability to deliver on established themes and styles as required. Regularly participates in generating new story ideas and approaches and executes the work, often under tight deadlines.

* Highly developed knowledge of broadcast methods of measuring audio and video signals to ensure quality control of ESPN endorsed standards.

* High level understanding of the workflow of other business units, including their impact and/or specific integration with Production Operations. Proficient troubleshooting techniques and problem solving and effective communication in all directions.

* Strong organizational and planning skills required.

* Continued career development through participation in instructor-led and online training courses is required.

* Expected to train others in operational areas and generate training documentation.

* Ability to interpret and understand complex information and disseminate effectively.

* Accurate and timely completion of all required administrative tasks, including but not limited to, shift reports, expense reports, issues reports, training tracker comment entries, and director cut sheets.

# Basic Qualifications

* A minimum of 4 years of practical TV Production or related experience.

* High level of competency on Quantel non-linear editing systems.

* Experience producing interviews in the field

* Must demonstrate ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Candidates must have good computer background (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc...).

* Solid communication skills.

* Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

* Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives

* Some travel may be required

* Ability to work under pressure and time sensitive deadlines

* Understand and adhere to journalistic standards

# Preferred Qualifications

* Highly developed knowledge of all applicable TV Production equipment and technology within assigned operating areas, including but not limited to; non-linear edit systems, VTRs, broadcast routers, media management process and various applicable computer applications. Knowledge and understanding of the ESPN technical standards. Knowledge and understanding of ESPN editorial requirements.

* Working knowledge of college sports, especially the SEC
