JOB DESCRIPTION:* This position is located in Vancouver, WA and is for C-Tran * Responsible for independent and collaborative graphic design; establish standards of quality and ensure all pieces meet standards * Design, develop and produce a variety of graphic arts materials and publications for use within and outside the agency, including but not limited to schedules, fare instruments, brochures, maps, timetables, newsletters, charts, awards, certificates and presentation materials * Design and create promotional materials including banners, bus channel cards, posters and advertisements to promote agency services * Select and communicate with printing companies, photographers, advertising firms, vendors and others to coordinate activities and projects through completion * Operate a variety of computers and peripheral equipment, digital camera, and related equipment used in graphic design; utilizes traditional layout methods as required and convert graphic projects for use on agency web site * Maintain graphic arts equipment, computers, cameras and printers to keep in good working condition * Research and provide recommendations for ongoing upgrades and enhancements of hardware, software and graphics equipment * Manage photo, art and graphics design libraries and files * Conduct regular backups and periodic archiving of digital files to guarantee long term safety of information * Proofread agency publications to verify accuracy and readability of information * Assist with the development and publication of web site content * Consult with agency staff regarding specific requests and general statements of need and provides cost estimates, technical expertise, assistance, and recommendations regarding requested materials * Serve on agency committees as required * Successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, have regular and dependable attendance and can work in high pressure environments with multiple prioritiesJOB REQUIREMENTS :* Associates degree in graphics design or related field * 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience with graphic design, production and desktop publishing * Position related certification and/or an additional 2 years of experience may be substituted for education requirement * Demonstrated expert operation of a personal computer and graphic design software including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro * Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Demonstrated familiarity with printing production including pre-press, presswork, bindery and paper selectionPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Web coding skills desiredHOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE:* Monday through Friday * Full timeSALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS:* $4,578 to $6,501 per month DOE * Benefits availableADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:* Employer will administer a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screenCLOSING DATE/DEADLINE:* Open until filled or at the direction of the employerHOW TO APPLY/REQUEST A REFERRAL:*Step 1:Apply online at:www.c-tran.com*NOTE:You must leave the WorkSource website to view the company website.*If you would like assistance with your online application please come to WorkSource and request to meet with an Employment Specialist before submitting online:* It is up to the employers discretion to contact desired applicants * Employment Specialists are available from 8:30-4:00 Mon-Fri at WorkSource Vancouver; 5411 E.
