**Position Summary**
Acrobat.com is a rich set of cloud applications including free and paid services for the web, mobile and desktop. Our subscription base is growing rapidly and we are continuously rolling out new features and services. Each of our teams is small, agile and has a lot of autonomy. Each of our teams can expect to work at all layers of the stack though some specialize based on organizational need. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, but be well grounded in the discipline of shipping production code. There will be substantial opportunities to contribute to new product/service concepts, including Lean Startup experiments as well as other in-house initiatives.
Our server applications are written in Python, some in Django, others in lighter weight frameworks. For the web UI, we use a single-page architecture using HTML5, jQuery, backbone, underscore, require.js. Clients/server communications are always RESTful. All of our deployments are on AWS and highly automated. Gathering and analyzing data is very important in our business and we hope you like that sort of thing. As a manager here, you will be leading one or more agile teams. We expect our teams to be self-organizing, and self-starting. The managers’ role is to plan for the future, work on improving our skills and efficiency, and to provide coaching and support for individual team members.
**Requirements**
* 7 to 10 years experience building complex applications or services
* Experience managing in an agile environment
* Great interpersonal, verbal and writing skills
* Skilled in the art of writing and reviewing specifications
* Strong commitment to the discipline of automated testing
* Facility with working with distributed teams to coordinate their work
* Good understanding of what it takes to build a service at web scale
* Commitment to building great software with passion, intensity, and fun
Experience in any of the following areas would be a major plus
* Lean Startup methodologies
* Data Analytics / Business Intelligence
* HTML5/Javascript/CSS
* AJAX
* REST
* Python
* Django, or similar frameworks
* Agile methodologies
