The Director is responsible for implementing scalable processes and internal controls, developing collaborative relations with all HR stakeholders and employees and fostering a positive, trustworthy reputation for the HR organization. This individual will be responsible the strategic direction of the HR Service Center including building a team that works proactively with their partners to ensure alignment and collaboration across business.

* Designs, implements and executes strategic direction and operational objectives for the HR Service Center
* Serves as the communication leader for the human resource team managing online content as it relates to policies, procedures, etc.
* Serves as the lead point of contact for complex and escalated issues HR issues, determining appropriate resolutions and engaging additional stake holders as required.
* Works as a liaison between the Employee Relations team, the HR Business Partners, Benefits, HRIS, Payroll, the HR leadership team, legal and other stakeholders as appropriate to drive efficiencies and optimize HR support to the business
* Serves as the HR technology lead, partnering with IM and other HR leaders who own technology to drive service enhancements, efficiencies, ease of use for colleagues and appropriate integrations.
* Tracks trends and issue regarding human relations, and work-related problems, and proposes strategic solutions to resolve and minimize.
* Communicates human resources policies, systems and program trends and updates to all HR stakeholders.
* Advises and assists internal operational leaders and colleagues with interpretation and application of policies and procedures, coaching, legal compliance, employee complaints, disciplinary and termination issues and other employee relations issues as required.
* Ensures Employee Relations team members are kept knowledgeable on market trends and changes in law that impact policies, procedures and practices. Serves as a final point of escalations when required.
* Drives HR system, process and communication best practices and efficiencies.

* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or other related degree preferred.
* Active HR certification (PHR, SPHR) required.
* Minimum of 7 years progressive Human Resources or Service Center Management experience required with heavy emphasis on employee relations, HR technology and project management.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate groups and individuals required. Minimum 3 years’ experience managing large teams preferred.
* Six Sigma, Certified Project Manager (CPM) or other process improvement/project management training certification is a plus.
* Ability to evaluate complex issues and resolve for the immediate problem and identify root cause to minimize repeated occurrences.
* Experience working in large, multi-state, multi-location, complex organizations highly preferred. Knowledge of Canadian employment law a plus.
* Broad knowledge of Human Resources, policy development and related laws and regulations required.
