**GENERAL SUMMARY:**

The Senior Designer is responsible for directing and participating in the concept, creation and execution of sales/marketing creative for campaigns and individual projects.

He/She determines the look and feel of specific online and offline integrated campaigns and supports the sales and marketing team with presentations, creative solutions, concepts, mockups and strategies

This person is also responsible for the overall design of both small and large projects, and must have relevant experience and demonstrate significant responsibility and creativity.

The Senior Designer assists the Creative and must show successful interaction as well as the ability to provide support during his/her absence. The ability to verbally present ideas and strategies internally and to potential clients or suppliers

**Specific job responsibilities**

* Be prepared for mapping meeting /read CB and present sketches for kickoff meeting Weekly
* Drive Design review
* Attend weekly AD/CD meeting
* Create robust weekly status report including teams(and AD) previous weeks accomplishments
* List upcoming work to be reviewed what''s important now challenges
* Present printed work launched the previous week promptly at 9am
* Present any mapping/ko creative reference to CD
* Present work in progress at meeting
* Respect timelines and due dates

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**

**1. Presentation Design (55%)**

Work with Creative Director, business owner(s) and other marketing clients to conceptualize and execute designs that will advance the company''s merchandising, business, marketing and branding objectives

Work with the AD in communicating to the shopper the need to overcome their barriers by providing solutions and strategically integrated creative that supports “the brand story” and drives sales for the retailer. By creating the emotional connection between brands and the shopper, in order to inspire the motivation towards the path of purchase.

**Able to develop and evolve design systems and templates.**

Though somewhat subjective, a Senior Designer''s design work is of a consistently high quality, with little if any direction from manager needed.

Grasp client and project objectives, brand and design standards, and articulate them to the team

Use existing templates and conventions while focusing on new concepts, systems and solutions

**Help establish overall work processes and standards for the Design team**

**Create multiple draft solutions to a marketing creative problem that consistently meet business and communication objectives**

Able to evaluate multiple concepts, and discern and articulate which ideas are most valid and worth pursuing

**2. Brainstorming and Conception (25%)**

Lead by example. A Senior Designer is dependable, resourceful, prompt, accessible, well informed, and communicates well.

Assist Art Director to guide and teach team of senior and junior web designers. **Provide daily art direction and guidance to members of the design team. Lead formal and informal critiques, give effective feedback to drive successful designs and design systems.**

Assist Art Director to communicate best practices, goals, and feedback to develop each team member.

Anticipate potential project problems and dependencies based on experience, and can quickly and effectively implement solutions

**Delegate effectively.** Able to successfully persuade/influence team members, sell ideas effectively, and get results. Thorough and successful follow through is critical. Build confidence and effective relationships with business owners.

Take significant responsibility for projects'' successes. Expert understanding of company goals, sales goals; work actively to align team to support those goals.

Foster positive relationships with client counterparts, understand strategic importance of Publisher vs. Supplier relationships

**Resolve conflicts constructively with minimal input from manager**

Work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing a consistently high level of attention to detail for self and team. Evaluate the quality of team''s work and give feedback.

Promote best practices for communication with other groups in the Production Team.

If needed, can spec projects quickly and accurately.

**Interpersonal Competencies:**

Excellent project management skills. Able to work on and/or oversee multiple projects and reprioritize as needed.

**Able to set accurate project schedules, timelines and LOE''s.**

**Help team manage their time.**

Able to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement from a project and team perspective.

**3. Creative Briefings and Presenting (20%)**

Communicate your understanding and articulate the competitive landscape, in order to speak in the language of the industry you are presenting to. Manage and organize image creation/approval/communication. Provide production support as needed.

**4. Other (10%)**

Assist Marketing/Sales and Executive team members with presentation preparation and general support

**Develop, research and lead best practices for overall team efficiency**

Maintain high awareness of competitor best practices and leverage these ideas as needed

Expert understanding of company and business objectives

Build and maintain relationships with merchants, marketing and other cross-functional teams
