## Description
The Systems Engineer will follow established guidelines, supporting assigned account managers in their efforts to identify customer needs and assist in selling and installing solutions to meet those needs. Will provide consultation at customer sites and training or workshops to introduce or support product solutions.
**Core Essential Functions:
Drawing upon a comprehensive knowledge of computer networks, data centers and IT environments, employs effective interpersonal relationship-building skills to create and maintain professional rapport with customers and prospects, helping them to pinpoint their problems in order to offer the most appropriate FNET product, system or service solution.
Provides on-site proof-of-concept support and validation of Fluke Networks solutions as part of pre-sales technical evaluation process. Extensive travel likely required.
Accurately documents customer needs and shares information widely among FNET teams: engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support engineering.
Support the field sales force and/or customers with application, technical and competitive information and technical training. Assist in new product introduction and field sales training.
Coordinate and assist in generating specials quotes, generate proposals and sales plans. Working with assigned account manager, monitor and forecast large order activity.
Provide technical sales support at industry shows and conferences; prepare and deliver audio/visual and oral presentations at potentially very large groups.
May recommend product revisions and enhancements to product management that would enhance solution set and increase customer loyalty and/or incremental purchases.
**Qualifications:
Self-motivated. Studies technical and product-related material and practices using Fluke Networks products in constant effort to keep up to date with new releases. Identifies and performs various tasks to support remote sales resources. Participates in "continuous-improvement" activities to make work flow more efficient and better support customers.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. BS in Engineering, Applied Computer Science or other related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university preferred. Networking industry related course certifications may substitute in some cases. Demonstrated intellectual capability to expand and grow as Fluke Networks solution set increases in breadth and complexity.
Experience: Mandatory at least 10 years minimum successful experience in similar industry in a pre-sales or technical support role.
**Job Complexity:
Work is performed with minimal direction and supervision. Has significant latitude in determining work objectives and goals. Outside and inside contacts made with limited or no supervision on significant matters requiring tact and interpretation of the policies, procedures, and product information. Held accountable to quarterly and annual sales goals as part of sales team.
