Responsibilities

Working on customer premises to turn gas on/off; reading meters; using pressure gauges to test for line integrity and gas detection instruments to locate leaks
Performing all Field or Service Technician duties, as well as acting as lead employee over one or more staff engaged in pinpointing leakage, making repairs and replacing services or portions of mains
Operating light earth-moving equipment, such as backhoe, side boom, tamper and hydra-crane
General equipment maintenance, including cleaning, greasing and lubricating and transportation of equipment and/or materials
Other duties include tie-ins, leakage repair and other construction operations
Establishing or reestablishing service, including testing and inspecting service/house lines and lighting appliances according to policy/procedures and approved code transfers
Installation and removal of gas meters, meter settings and regulators via locating/repairing curb boxes, removing active and inactive meters and disconnecting gas service at meter or curb box.

Qualifications
Please designate shift preference from most desirable to least desirable.
Requires 18 months experience as Field Technician or Service Technician or equivalent work experience.
Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to use various types of hand tools needed for repair of field facilities.
Must be able to obtain a commercial driver''s license (CDL) and certification to operate company trucks under DOT/Ohio Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for intrastate drivers.
Experience of 24 months operating earth-moving equipment with knowledge of underground construction practices preferred. Must be able to prepare and maintain legible records.
Must be able to perform basic math calculations, prepare legible records and understand written and oral communications.
Must have ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working knowledge of DIS and WMS is preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations concerning pipeline safety and underground construction practices preferred.
Must be able to pass applicable field and service physical capacity tests as well as general aptitude testing.
Must be dependable in terms of adherence to deadlines and presence on the job.
Requires skill in reading/interpreting gauges & dials.
Must be able to be certified to wear self contained breathing apparatus.
Must be able to work overtime and respond to emergency callouts.
Must have an acceptable driving record that meets the Company''s Safe Driving Program.

Successful candidate must complete Plant and Service training program and be able to pass Customer Service A test within 12 months of training.
Incumbent will work predominately outdoors in all weather conditions.
This position is subject to DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan (AMPP) regulations.
This position is subject to an Operations Job Fit Assessment , Aptitude Testing, a Behavioral Interview and a Physical Capacity Assessment

Other Information
Successful candidate will be required to reside within 25 miles or 30 minute response time to the Circleville, OH Operating MOD site.
