Job Description
Dematic Corp. has an immediate need for a Maintenance Technician 4 located in Tracy, CA. This position will function as our Sr. Technician's at our customer site for a maintenance contract.

Functions as the technical authority on all products that are installed on the particular site of assignment.

• Associate degree in electrical engineering or the equivalent knowledge or experience, or military technical school training.
• Minimum of 5-7 years experience in maintenance or Electro-mechanical, controls, servos, VFDs and other discrete components.
• Knowledge of PLCs, Allen Bradley and Siemens. Trouble shooting of PLC’s is required.
• Consults with site manager and other Dematic engineering regarding maintenance problems, design deficiencies, and operational problems.
• Diagnose and implement corrective action to problems with Dematic and other equipment.
• Documents daily maintenance logs and performs daily preventative maintenance as directed by site manager and / or site superintendent.

Additional Core Requirements:

• Provides a high level of support during the particular shift to maintain a 98% plus uptime on customer equipment.
• Must be able to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, and the like with agility.
• Performs work in areas subject to such hazards as moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and/or chemicals.
• Performs all duties in a safe manner as described in safety procedure manuals. Follows lock out / tag out procedures as needed to insure safe work practices.
• Oversees and directs lesser skilled technicians on all duties as assigned.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Scheduled maintenance.
• Corrective maintenance.
• Scheduled repairs.
• Performs emergency repairs.
• Practicing safe work habits and abiding by safety rules in accordance with customer and Dematic policies.
• Logging all service work performed, recording downtime during repair and accounting for equipment service requests.
• Skills including a balance of Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical skills with an emphasis on Controls.

Senior Technicians shall have the following minimum qualifications and responsibilities: Electromechanical skills, troubleshooting skills with PLC controls, servos, and other discrete electrical control components. Five years maintenance experience with some conveyor equipment experience is preferred. Must have the ability to connect a maintenance PC to a PLC and step through and understand the PLC program to troubleshoot complex controls failures, and make minor code changes under the direction of Engineering.

Key responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:
1. Practice safe work habits and abide by the safety rules in accordance with the safety policies set forth by our client.
2. Provide electromechanical corrective repairs and preventative maintenance.
3. Log all service work performed, downtime during repair, and account for equipment service requests.
4. Work in cooperation as a team with the DC warehouse operators.

Job Family Responsibilities:

Guides on-site technical and operational support in the design, development, installation and maintenance of equipment and systems of a very complex nature. Guides very complex site surveys to develop base or installation design plans. Guides training customers to maintain and adjust very complex equipment. Develops and submits reports covering all job activity. Guides the maintenance of very complex tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc. May develop the planning and estimating of labor categories, rates, material dollar costs, transportation expenses and per diem rates to complete very complex proposals. Guides the review of very complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provides continual guidance throughout task duration.
Key Responsibilities:

Performs advanced areas of work for the professional field. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.
Education:

High School Diploma required; BS/BA in related discipline preferred. Certification may be required in some areas.
Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organizations business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. Typically 8-10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
