Job Description
Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc. is seeking a senior-level bridge engineer to work in our Boston Office. The candidate is to work with senior level staff in the design and inspection of bridges. Responsibilities will include design and analysis of bridge structures using the current AASHTO LRFD design code, and preparation of contract documents for the rehabilitation of existing bridges and construction of new bridges.
The candidate shall have ten to twenty years experience in bridge design and rehabilitation, and be familiar with MassDOT design standards and preparation of construction documents. The candidate will be responsible for preparing design calculations, cost estimates, specifications, and reports. S/he shall be capable of managing bridge design projects and directing project teams. Experience in inspection and load rating of existing bridges is required.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with focus on structures from an accredited university is required. Strong writing and communication skills desired. Familiar with AASHTO LRFD design requirements is required. Candidate shall be a registered PE or eligible to obtain a Mass. PE license in three months. The candidate shall have:
* Knowledge of prestressed concrete bridge design and steel bridge design.
* Strong, positive working relationship with MassDOT and/or other New England DOT staff.
* Experience with design-build projects is preferred.
* Successful project management experience.
* Focus on providing quality deliverables and maintaining positive client relationships.
* Ability to immediately, legally work in the US.
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
