Job Description Lockheed Martin is seeking an innovative and energetic IT Operations Project and Planning Manager to support the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, DC. FERC is an independent agency that regulates the interstate transmission of electricity, natural gas, and oil. The Commission also has siting authority that includes licensing non-federal hydropower projects, certifying interstate natural gas pipelines and storage projects, authorizing Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) facilities, and in certain circumstances, permitting electric transmission lines. This position will be instrumental in providing timely, cost effective and secure IT operations services to FERC in support of their mission.

The IT Operations Project and Planning Manager will be the LM program lead responsible for the delivery of IT services and support to FERC customers. This position will work closely with FERC IT Operations to support effective delivery of the following: maintain a stable, cost effective and secure IT environment; provide quality, timely and cost efficient maintenance; protect and present FERC information that facilities the FERC mission; and modernize technology to meet the business demands in a cost effective manner. The scope of this effort includes all facets of operations for computer, network, communications, and hardware and software infrastructure technologies.

Primary responsibilities will include:
• Provide 24x7 Customer Support Services including an IT Service Desk and Tier 2 End User IT Service Delivery. These services are user-centric and include client hardware and software delivery, installation, break-fix support as well as executive premier support services.
• Manage and maintain the IT infrastructure including storage systems/devices, servers, communications, workstations and peripherals, applications and facilities (Data Center), development environment, the Definitive Hardware Library (DHL) and Definitive Software Library (DSL), COOP and Disaster Recovery IT infrastructure, externally provided services and information about infrastructure usage.
• Provide document information to the Document Operations organization, as required.
• Manage a team of direct reports with related responsibilities i.e. hiring, performance management, task management

Note: this position is contingent upon program award and funding anticipated Summer 2014
Basic Qualifications • Ten (10) or more years' experience with an emphasis on infrastructure/systems support in a Linux/Microsoft Environment
• Experience with implementation of IT security policies and procedures
• Experience with ITIL
• At least five (5) years managing the operations and staff of a medium-sized or large systems environment or data center.
• Previous experience producing and delivering briefings to Senior leaders in addition to handling sensitive and confidential information
Desired skills • ITIL v3 Certification or ability to get one before Program Award
• PMP certification
• CISSP or related Information Security training or certification
• Previous experience working with or for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
