Job Description
* Engineer and manage network elements for CenturyLink¿s national voice network.
* Order hardware inclusive of telecommunications gear, power equipment, miscellaneous support material and metal support structure, to complete installation requirements.
* Write installation specification documents to detail instructions to installation technicians, contractors and central office technicians for deployment/removal of network assets.
* Deploy equipment assets utilizing the most feasible, practical and economical means based on central office installation guidelines and network budget limitations.
* Participate as required in space, location and engineering requirements for new platform deployments into the network to include integration, modification, growth and power requirements.
* Must be capable of handling and multi-tasking moderately complex engineering assignments.
* Analyze and offer resolution to difficult interoperability problems, to obtain efficiencies, and performance across all platforms.Required Skills:
* May act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for other team members.
* Requires limited direction and guidance.
* Technical knowledge of one or more of the following: GR-1275-Core, voice call processing, VoIP, IP, TDM, AIN, SS7 and QoS monitoring.
* Must possess strong presentation skills, and be able to communicate professionally to peers, equipment vendors and all levels of managemen,t both internally and externally.
* Project management, technical writing and documentation skills required.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Fireworks and SAP desired.Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree, or 6 - 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
