This position is the primary service and maintenance contact with Ingersoll Rand customers within our service coverage area. The right candidate will promote and maintain customer relationships by ensuring customer satisfaction and by continued expansion of the customer base.This position is for a Service Technician at the Ingersoll Rand Customer Center to repair and maintain stationary air compressor systems in industrial facilities. * Effectively and efficiently troubleshoot and repair air compressors, dryers, and system components, including root cause analysis, to ensure proper equipment operation. Provide technical assistance to customers with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. * Perform system installations, including rigging, use of scissor lifts and fork trucks, threading or soldering pipe, electrical wiring and connections * Maintains knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment. Read prints and wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment. * Establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers. * Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of customers and co-workers. * Adhere to all company and customer Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and procedures. * Use precision measuring tools for checking clearances; understands and uses electrical test equipment for all equipment. Maintain knowledge of all upgrades, retrofits, etc. * Support sales and service efforts by responding to customer and IR requirements at any time, including weekends and holidays. * Increase IR customers awareness of how IR products, services, & solutions such as Package Care, Preventive maintenance, Competitive Service, Diagnostics, and Audits can benefit their operations. Actively participate in services and parts marketing plans. * Complete and submit daily, accurate service reports, time sheets, and tasks on time. * Maintain company property, including vehicle and tools/equipment.QUALIFICATIONS:* Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of compressed air systems or industrial equipment. * Working knowledge of electrical systems and electrical troubleshooting (motors, starters etc.) a plus. * Must possess strong customer skills and work ethic: Honest and dedicated to customer satisfaction, reliable, dependable and professional * A proven track record of observing and actively promoting safety education in the field * Willingness to learn and take on new challenges * Alert and watchful with a strong attention to detail * Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision * Refrigeration experience/certification a plus * Basic PC and computer system skills. MS Office, iPads, etc. * Candidates must have their own set of standard tools, and be willing to work overtime as needed * Company vehicle provided. Must have your own mechanics tools * Duties require the employee to stoop, kneel, bend or crawl. The job requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. and occasional heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. * Activities require handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, electronic controls and other small parts. * Travel: 50%.
