**PRIMARY PURPOSE:**

Under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator and Director of the Autism Spectrum and Developmental Disorders Resource Center is responsible for providing behavioral health care for clients and their families/significant others seen at the Autism Spectrum and Developmental Disorders Resource Center.

**This is a part-time position 20hrs per week.*

* JOB FUNCTIONS:*

* Provides screenings and triage assessment for clients seen at the Autism Spectrum and Developmental Disorders Resource Center.

* Will work with clients of all ages (early childhood through adulthood) that have Autism Spectrum Disorders (including Autism, Asperger’s and PDD NOS). Will provide screenings when questioning the diagnosis and will provide resources to families when the client is in need of additional treatment services.

* Therapeutically interacts with each person/age group and is knowledgeable of their various developmental needs.

* Works to become knowledgeable regarding Autism Spectrum Disorder resources within the Alexian Brothers Health System and in the community.

* Visits sites in the community to become more familiar and knowledgeable regarding resources in the community for Autism.

* May see some clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders for on-going therapy (individual and/or family therapy). Client case load will be discussed with the Clinical Coordinator.

* Will connect with families or professionals in the community over the phone. Will then assist them in navigating the ASD service arena and provide consultation to professionals.

* Will write summaries on each meeting they have with a client. The summary will then be sent to the family and other providers (if the family has consented to that).

* Will follow up with clients after they meet with them to assure they are satisfied with the services they are receiving.

* Provides consultation (via phone or face to face) to programs within the Alexian Brothers Health System.

* Is responsible for the timely documentation of relevant information and action taken in the designated clinical record.

* Cooperates with appropriate outside referral sources and completes required documentation in the specified time frame.

* Communicates, as necessary, with other relevant systems that may interface with the client; these may include, but are not limited to, pediatricians, physicians, psychiatrist, schools, etc.

* Assists in the implementation and evaluation of Client Satisfaction Surveys and Outcome Studies.

* Participates in clinical supervision as required.

* Routinely apprises supervisor of weekly treatment statistics.

* Updates knowledge and skills by attending conferences and educational programs including mandatory inservices.

* Assumes responsibility for updating knowledge of ABBHH’s policies and procedures and complies with the same.

* Demonstrates an awareness of a client’s total needs as a person and addresses psychosocial, physical, developmental, spiritual and cultural issues as appropriate.

* Uses tact and sensitivity in communicating effectively and respectfully with clients, families, co-workers and all others.

* Provides for maintenance of confidentiality of client records and communications.

* Maintains the values and philosophy of the mission statement of the company.

* Recommends quality and/or process improvement initiatives in order to more effectively and efficiently perform the Job Functions of this position.

* Performs all other duties related to this job.

**MINIMAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:**(necessary to adequately perform the Job Functions)

* Master’s or Doctoral degree in a behavioral related field, or Post Doctoral candidate with appropriate experience.

* Must be license eligible (LCSW, LCPC, Licensed Clinical Psychologist).

* Has had experience working with children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (including Autism, Asperger’s and PDD NOS).

* Has had training in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders and is knowledgeable regarding current evidenced-based treatments for ASD and can utilize those treatments in therapy sessions.

* Must have excellent case management skills.

* Must possess excellent clinical skills, especially in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
