**Purpose of the Role**

Lead the Department Managers, Merchandise Presentation team Leads and Visual Presentation Specialists in the achievement of the category sales plan and operational deliverables. Create an environment of associate engagement that maximizes customer service and delivers flawless execution of all processes and standards. Assume responsibility for the General Manager in his/her absence.

**Major Responsibilities**

1. Create an environment of positive associate engagement by actively promoting Sears Mission, Vision and Values, providing regular communication through department meetings, daily scrums, etc. and assist the General Manager in maintaining high standards in all associate areas in the store. Assume responsibility for the General Manager in his/her absence. Ensure active recognition programs and associate development plans are in place.
2. Work with leaders to ensure customer service expectations, both direct and indirect, are being met, i.e. in-stock, selling interactions, Customer Service Desk service standards, etc. Identify gaps and make recommendations for improvements wherever necessary.
3. Drive flawless execution of corporate initiatives and store standards to ensure resources are used effectively in all operational processes including payroll and in achievement of merchandising standards within areas of responsibility.
4. Support and develop leaders through an effective performance management program that provides them with clear goals, coaching, training and positive recognition as well as timely, meaningful performance reviews. Participate in the recruitment and selection of new associates for designated areas.
5. Direct the Visual Presentation Specialists and Merchandise Presentation team Leads to ensure effective execution of merchandising standards. Encourage and ensure team collaboration with in-store partners to coordinate work effort and implement marketing events effectively.
6. Responsible for the achievement of overall sales plan for the A&A; category, by leading department managers in developing and implementing action plans to achieve their department goals.
7. Ensure all associates work in compliance with all laws and regulations and attend and complete all required health and safety training, report all accidents and take every precaution reasonable to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
8. Perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications*

* Secondary school diploma

* College diploma in Retailing, Marketing or Business Administration

* A minimum of 3.5 years of previous work experience

* Demonstrated Exceptional leadership skills

* Demonstrated organizational/planning and analytical skills

* Strong business acumen

* Demonstrated understanding of basic financial concepts and business planning

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
