POSITION SUMMARY: Involved with the development of a collaborative projectbetween Mental Health Center of Denver and Denver Public Schools (DPS).Will support school personnel regarding typical emotional development andprovide guidance regarding environmental/behavioral changes to addresschallenging behaviors. Provide case management services to families includingreferral assistance, advocacy and support in accessing community resources.Work in a trauma-informed care environment with a team-based approach toservice provision. Weekly supervision is provided. Mental Health Center ofDenver has a wellness culture that focuses on strengths.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assess, evaluate and provide appropriate psychotherapy services tochildren and their families. Facilitate social/emotional groups for children. Provide psycho-education and support groups for families/caregivers. Support school personnel regarding typical emotional development andprovide guidance regarding environmental/behavioral changes to addresschallenging behaviors. Provide staff development opportunities with group trainings andpresentations. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, electronic tracking of dailyactivities, and accountability expectations. Participate in team meetings, in-services and supervisory sessions asrequired.EDUCATION:LCSW or LPC with a Masters degree in psychology, social work, or otherrelated human services field. EXPERIENCE: 4 or more years of mental health therapy experience with children,adolescents and families. At least 4 years of cross-systems experience with experience inschool-based service delivery Experience providing group therapy and family therapy. Experience with public speaking, group training and presentations. Experience with trauma informed care and evidence based practices. Extensive experience in providing direct mental health therapy services,especially evidence-based individual, family and group interventions isnecessaSKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Engaging and effective written and verbal communication skills. Collaboration and team participation. Effective practice management. Proactive. Conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of local community resources. Ability to keep accurate detailed records, demonstrated exceptionalperformance with regard to timely documentation. Respect for individual strengths and cultural differences. Spanish language fluency is encouraged. There is a Spanish languagepremium of $2.50/hr.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:NoneMACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:Computers, calculators, printers and fax machines, telephone, cellphone, and a variety of other office/clinical equipment.PHYSICAL REQIUREMENTS:Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. Ability to lift 30 lbs.Must have a valid Colorado Driver License. Ability to use and operate standardoffice equipment, including computer, calculator, phone, printers,cell phone, facsimile, experience with Windows 2007 and higher, etc.WORKING CONDITIONS:Typically M-F 8AM to 5PM. May require occasional evening or weekend hoursdepending on program and consumer needs.
