Job Description

Auction 2.0 Project Managers are responsible for supporting the Auction 2.0 initiative. The person in this position will manage the planning, design, development, implementation, and launch of multiple projects. This role will serve as organizer, facilitator, planner, analyst, collaborator and problem solver. Excellent management skills and the ability to promote a team environment are essential, as are outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment is critical.

Responsibilities

* Coordinates activities across other transformational/IT initiatives which may impact the program

* Regularly reviews overall project timeline and status at a high level across all initiatives and other project managers

* Define and manage overall project scope and timeline.

* Regularly monitors progress and status, follows up regularly to adjust plans and priorities to accomplish all objectives.

* Sets high expectations and enforces standards to meet project timelines.

* Owns budget accountability for all projects

* Defines and communicates project procedures and standards for status reports, meeting cadence, deliverables, sign-offs, change orders and time control issues

* Define, escalate, assist or resolve project/program issues and remove obstacles

* Ensure adherence of project teams to Manheim’s policies, procedures and methodologies for key activities

* Provides clarity and direction on business priorities and policies

* Works with teams to monitor/drive stakeholder management and communications

* Strong leadership, organization, presentation and customer service skills

* Leverages credibility and influences others to support the department’s manager and director in carrying out change.

* Understands the needs of the user community to ensure solutions have a positive long-term impact

* Chooses appropriate content, delivery method, and timing of information to optimize impact and receptiveness by others

* Builds a strong network of contacts and leverages relationships throughout the organization

* Assist with the definition and prioritization of upcoming projects, define appropriate resource requirements, and develop and manage project budgets, timelines and scope

* Effectively communicate project status to leadership and business stakeholders and proactively identify, communicate and manage risks that may interfere with successful project execution

* Ensure appropriate project documentation is produced

* Measure post-project goals and communicate those results to support excellent executive decision making and process improvement

* Strive for continuous improvement and efficiency in execution with an emphatic focus on key initiatives

Qualifications

* Must have a BS/BA degree or equivalent professional experience

* Must have 2-3 years of project management experience in delivering cross-functional project initiatives; experience should cover the full life cycle of solution development (discovery, design, development, delivery and post-delivery support)

* Demonstrated experience in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating complex multi-phase team efforts, combined with demonstrated ability to manage and direct employees, contractors and consultants in a project team

* Demonstrated track record of setting expectations and building strong, favorable working relationships at the team, stakeholder, executive, and external client levels

* Product management or product development experience in an e-commerce or web environment that is heavily data and transaction dependent

* Based in Atlanta metropolitan area and prepared to travel (up to 25%)

* Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

* Strong interpersonal skills

* Possess a solid understanding of wholesale automotive industry (e.g. industry structures, key players, competitive dynamics, technology underpinnings) is a plus

* Start up experience is a plus, demonstrated ability to function in an agile environment is a requirement
