Job Description This position is for an experienced export licensing professional, with in-depth understanding of the USG export laws, regulations and licensing review process. Manages export licensing requirements of several business units as the primary liaison with the U.S. Government, regarding the export of defense articles and services in support of international defense business. Coordinates with Departments of State, Commerce and Defense, leading meetings as required to resolve export regulatory issues.
Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings concerning proposed international business and defense sales.
Provides guidance to business unit export personnel on export licensing requirements, applicability of exemptions, and potential policy issues associated with international defense business. Participates with business units in the development of licensing strategies. Reviews draft export license applications and provides guidance to ensure consistency with US regulations, policies and guidelines.
Maintains frequent contact with USG personnel, business unit customers and industry peers.
Functions as manager, advisor and mentor for junior personnel.
Provides training on the implementation of U.S. export laws and regulations associated with an export internal compliance plan.
Assists and supports the Director, Corporate International Trade Compliance Office and Director, Export Operations, as required, to implement the Corporation s export policies and procedures.
May support Corporate audit, legal and ethics departments, as required.
Basic Qualifications Experienced export licensing and compliance professional;
Expert knowledge of USG export laws, regulations and licensing review process;
Superior written and verbal communications skills and the ability to multi-task and discern priorities are necessary to be successful;
Applicant must be able to effectively interface with all levels of management;
Ability to act as an effective liaison between the business unit program managers, export licensing personnel and U.S. Government stakeholders and license reviewers;
Attention to detail is a must;
Desired skills 15 years professional experience/combined advanced education, with minimum of 5 years specialized export licensing and compliance experience and related specialized training; Leadership and managerial experience;
Comfortable, effective public speaking, group presentations and training. Technical, engineering, or operational military experience with defense articles a plus. Familiarity with Foreign Military Sales process and related regulations.
