This position is for a Reliability Engineer with a manufacturer and marketer of building products, tissue, packaging, paper, cellulose and related chemicals located in New Augusta, MS. JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for the implementation of reliability concepts including the development of complete asset strategies for existing and new equipment and processes, utilizing such tools and methods as; RCA, RCM, PM development, operator basic care (OBC), vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, motor testing and other condition monitoring technologies; Work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, safety and purchasing in a team environment; Take a lead role in moving the team through the reliability processes. REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; 2+ years of maintenance, engineering, operations or reliability experience in industrial or manufacturing environment; Experience in the design, operation or maintenance of pulp and paper manufacturing, chemical processing equipment, or similar industrial facilities; Experience in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook and computerized equipment maintenance management systems. PREFERRED: 5+ years reliability experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment; Experience analyzing equipment component failures, troubleshooting and recommending preventive maintenance improvements for maintenance failures; CMMS experience; Completion of Essential Reliability Engineering Skills courses (applicable only to internal candidates) or other certified Reliability Engineering curriculums. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Have a strong understanding of PSM/RMP requirements; Maintain and improve plant mechanical and/or electrical equipment integrity programs, support and participate in process hazard analysis (PHAs); Review management of change, and conduct .and. follow-up on equipment failures, utilizing root cause failure analysis; Lead Operational Excellence efforts in the areas of maintenance reliability and unplanned downtime minimization; Acquire knowledge of facilities and processes in order to better understand process improvement opportunities; Participate on PHA teams for facility projects; Communicate with operations, maintenance and engineering staff to determine opportunities to add value to the facility; Exercise 10,000% compliance relative to environmental, safety, and business practices; Willingness to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, perform JSA's and safety awareness; Willingness to work in a tobacco free environment; Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement as condition of employment. KNOWLEDGE .and. SKILLS: Ability to apply and teach Reliability Centered Maintenance concepts, and effectively conduct training to advance the mill's overall knowledge of reliability; Knowledge of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards related to manufacturing; Knowledge of effective predictive and preventative maintenance technologies and systems; Knowledge of and ability to facilitate Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) within a team environment; A broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical machinery, including conveyer systems, breakers, boilers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, etc.; Knowledge of computer systems and the ability to learn new complex applications; Effective oral and written communications skills that support collaborative teamwork, and the ability to influence others; Proven analytical and field troubleshooting skills; Must enjoy creating value, be results focused, and have strong decision-making and organizational skills; Be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks; Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and self-teach the use and functions of new software applications.
