Job Description

This position manages and directs the overall Specialty operations of the auction, maintaining positive relationships with Specialty customers, developing new business and providing quality service. This position maintains and expands relationships with customers of the auction, and keeps appropriate records for customer accounts and account activities and manages and directs the daily operation of the Specialty operations; including the completion of quality RV and boats repair prior to sale, and directing the work of and supervising Specialty operations employees.

Responsibilities

* Establish and maintain close working relationships and good rapport with major Specialty accounts, banks, and growing dealer base.

* Develop new accounts through personal and telephone contact with potential customers and increase level of consignment with existing customers.

* Coordinate & review customer files and account records with appropriate managers to efficiently monitor aged inventory and title delays.

* Work with the Lot Manager and provide appropriate account information to monitor consignor’s vehicle inventory and to coordinate vehicle controls.

* Manage in coordination with the location's transportation department and direct the efficient movement, pick-up and delivery of specialty pieces and consignment vehicles to and from the auction, utilizing the appropriate transportation resources.

* Supervise in coordination with main office the preparation of titles, contracts, pre and post-sale reports as required by consignor and ensure work is completed accurately and timely, charges are correctly posted, and records are maintained according to contract requirements.

* Provide progress reports to sales staff and other managers as necessary to increase Specialty Sale business.

* Maintain and develop Specialty staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, and by providing educational opportunities.

* Counsel and discipline employees as necessary.

* Plan, monitor and evaluate job performance, and conduct performance appraisals.

* Review work volumes, plan and continuously monitor staffing levels to ensure efficiency, quality work product, and effective customer service; review departmental performance against key performance indicators and metrics and develop and execute strategies for improvement.

* Effectively leads the team at the location by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.

* Enforce all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.

* Partner with various market level support teams (i.e. Finance, HR, MFS, Recon, Safety, Security, Sales) to ensure effective and efficient operational processes that align with company objectives and strategies and high quality customer service and support.

* Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.

* Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

* High School Diploma or equivalent required.

* Minimum of 3 years experience in the boat and RV industry or auction business preferred

* Strong communication and interaction skills required.

* Competent management and excellent organizational skills required.

* Good computer and software knowledge.

* Valid driver's license and good driving record required.

* Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.

* ASE certification automotive body repair.

* Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (light hand tools, etc.)

* Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.

* Vision abilities required include close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
