GENERAL DUTIES

Manages College's academic internship program which provides career development opportunities and professional work experiences for students.

* Develops and administers a comprehensive internship program based on students' field of study

* Develops assessment tools to analyze and monitor student career development progress; recommends various enhancements to improve students' experiences; and analyzes job market trends to determine solutions in response to market conditions

* Administers the on-campus recruiting program for internships; initiates and maintains communications with employer sponsors; and schedules student interviews; creates and leads student career workshops

* Provides faculty development related to internships and tracks credit-bearing internships

* Collaborates with the other College offices to facilitate student outreach and connection with employers for professional development, internships and job opportunities

* Cultivates relationships with alumni, faculty, administration and students to improve and increase internship offerings

* May manage professional and/or clerical staff

* Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

Overall responsibility: Administration and coordination of a master's level field education program.

Key areas of responsibility: Supervise and monitor the placement of students in agencies in order to insure a quality field education experience; design and implementation of field curriculum and policies; supervision of professional and support staff; collaboration with faculty and administration in class/field integration. Oversight and development of Seminar In Field Instruction (SIFI) seminars and advanced educational offerings to field instructors; monthly meetings with faculty advisors; development and direction of curriculum for Orientation to Field Work, Field Instructors annual Meeting, SIFI Certificate Ceremony, Placement Fair, as well as other school events; hire, assign, and supervise faculty advisors; membership on school committees including curriculum committee; represent HCSSW in the community and at off-campus meetings; provide data for school, college, and national organization reports; work with Hunter legal counsel to establish clinical affiliation agreements; development and review of all written materials for the Field Office. Supervise assistant directors and administrative assistant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

* MSW degree with 6 years of related, post-masters experience. Preferred candidates should have at least 4 years of social work practice in diverse urban settings.

* Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills. Effective English oral and written communications skills are necessary for dealing with faculty, students, college staff, and agency representatives; experience in administration/supervision/coordination in a social work education or related setting.

COMPENSATION

$55,602 - $76,689
