The Role

As a Senior Consultant within our Communications and Change Management practice, you will be responsible for leading and supporting some of the most important projects our clients undertake. The projects include benefit design and total reward communciations, mergers and acquisitions, sweeping business strategy and culture transformations, HR function redesigns and technology implementations. These projects can be large and complex with far-reaching business implications.

Additionally, you will contribute your thought leadership to the overall development of the C&CM; business. As a member of the new Global Technology Steering Committee you will help guide a dispersed team of C&CM; technology product managers,” and coordinate with T&R;’s technology leadership to develop market-leading innovative consulting approaches which will be deployed throughout the practice.

To be effective in this role, you will need strong business acumen along with confidence to interact with senior executives and lead groups. Comfort navigating ambiguity and uncertainty, utilizing expert communication skills, and a willingness to engage in both strategic design and tactical implementation are critical to success in this position.

In this role, you will have a direct reporting relationship into Towers Watson’s Chicago market and and will have matrix reporting relationships to the C&CM; Global Practice Leader. You will also have alignment to the C&CM; Regional Practice leaders and T&R; Technology Leadership.

* Sell, develop and implement custom change management strategies and programs aimed at helping clients navigate significant benefit, compensation, organizational, workforce or business changes

* Work side-by-side with clients to develop a comprehensive communication and change management approach and implement the recommended changes and change activities

* Develop high-quality deliverables in support of the change management approach and plan

* Facilitate interviews and group discussions with clients to identify and document change requirements for different stakeholder groups

* Collect, review and analyze large quantities of qualitative and quantitative data

* Develop insights related to change management risks and impacts, and communicate those insights clearly and succinctly

* Ensure that project managers are maintaining team progress against established budget, timeline and strict quality standards

* Research,support and actively lead the gathering of market intelligence to guide recommendations of technology decisions on deployment of various applications, systems, etc. (e.g. buy, build or partner decisions).*

* In cooperation with the T&R; Technology leadership, C&CM; Regional Practice leadership, and geographic LOB and Practice Leaders, support the competency development and the deployment of educational and consulting support tools for the Practices.*

* Provide market feedback to the Practice Council and specific Practices, where appropriate)*

* Ensure appropriate governance and work quality process are adopted on all work carried out*

* People/Clients*

* Partner with the CDG and LOB/Practice sales teams to promote T&R; related services, technology applications as appropriate and support new business development*

* Collaborate across Practices, LOBs, Segments and the CDG to effectively pursue and deliver on integrated opportunities*

* Collaborate with the T&R; Americas Regional Practice Leaders (RPLs) to ensure alignment within the practices

* Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams

* Mentor and develop senior sellers and project leads in effectively leading technology related assignments*

* Develop and deploy training materials and knowledge transfer resources to support T&Rs; senior sellers and project consultants

* Provide regular updates to TW leadership teams on issues and progress of C&CM; technology based solutions and opportunities

* Partner with T&R; Marketing teams to develop external sales collateral materials and content for new business pursuits, as appropriate.

* Establish an advisor role with clients and provide consistent, superior relationship management

* Participate in managing client expectations and raise appropriate issues to Lead Consultants and Account Directors

* Lead multiple projects or manage large, complex projects under direction or in cooperation of senior leaders

* Facilitate client interviews/meetings, lead focus groups and manage the quality of work products

**Financial*

* Primary accountability for selling and growing the C&CM; practice in assigned markets

* Identify opportunities to cross-sell new services including technology applications

* Coordinate with existing client development teams to identify, develop and close strategic sales opportunities

* Build relationships with internal and external sources to maximize the penetration of key target accounts

* Actively participate in and lead new business opportunities with clients and prospects, including cross-selling to existing clients

* Draft project proposals, finalist presentations, statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams

* Consistently meet or exceed established individual sales and billable hour targets

The Requirements

* Strong knowledge and track record of designing, building and implementing new media and technology to support effective communication and change management strategies

* 7-10 years of communication, HR/change management experience. Consulting experience is required and ideally from an organization that specializes in benefit and change management strategy development; experience working for traditional HR consulting firms, benefit brokerage firms or Big 4 firms a plus.

* Ability to manage concurrent projects that are multidimensional and encompass multiple businesses (HR Effectiveness, Health and Welfare, Retirement, Executive Compensation, etc.)

* Superior verbal and written communication skills

* Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills

* Experience facilitating, coaching and mentoring teams specifically to drive consensus, brainstorm and/or to gather data for a project(s)

* A strong professional presence with polished and well developed oral communication skills

* General business acumen, with an understanding of how companies are organized, how they operate (business processes), and business drivers

* Availability to travel on an as needed basis

* A BS/BA degree is required; MBA or MA in related field is preferred
