**Description:**
Our Commercial business manages the company’s worldwide commodity, supply, marketing, and trading needs. Working closely with Midstream and Refining and Marketing, Commercial supports the corporate vision of providing energy and improving lives by capturing trading opportunities of the rapidly changing energy landscape in commodities such as natural gas liquids, crude oil, gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
This position will have interaction with Commercial Risk Management, Front-Office Trading, IT and Legal across the global Commercial organization (Houston, London, Singapore, Calgary and Dubai). Commercial Compliance is a fast-paced environment that is people-oriented and requires flexibility and multi-tasking. In addition, the Trade Monitoring Technology Analyst works with global trading data across all commodities in which the Commercial organization trades.
**Responsibilities may include:*
* Monitor and analyze daily trading activity for the Commercials trading operations.
* Research anomalies identified by routine scans and produce written documentation of results.
* Manage/generate monthly trade monitoring metrics reports on productivity levels.
* Identify and develop additional trade monitoring opportunities to strengthen the compliance program.
* Coordinate surveillance activities with our London and Singapore Compliance groups to ensure consistent application across all Phillips 66 Commercial business units.
* Develop and maintain a surveillance playbook” describing the, who, what, when and why of the various monitoring techniques.
* Analyze various monitoring techniques to ensure they are still necessary and appropriate.
* Communicate/interface effectively in potential confrontational situations.
## Qualifications
**Basic/Required:*
* Legally authorized to work in the United States
* Bachelor’s degree
* 5+ years of direct Commercial involvement that includes exposure to front and mid- office trading activities
* Working knowledge of one or all of the following commodities/markets: Natural Gas, Power, Crude Oil, and financial derivatives
* Experience influencing, developing and implementing new business processes
**Preferred:*
* Effective and well-developed written and oral communication skills are vital to this position.
* Constantly looks for business process improvement opportunities
* Excellent interpersonal and team skills
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel and pivot tables
* Leadership and self-direction to conduct analysis/reviews across the Commercial Businesses
* Strong personality and independent thinker
